(...Dammit, I have to stop trying to write the end of stories before I write the beginning. Aah well.)

As someone who had her formal education in writing, speaking to someone who had her formal education in the sciences:

You have to write your stories in whatever way they come to you, whether that be front-to-back, back-to-front, or inside-outward.

Start writing. Start writing. Start writing!

... Oh, and the picture's nifty, too. I love the way you've drawn his extended hand...

Thank you for the kick in the figurative pants. :3 I will try my best.

And I'm glad the hand worked out well. :) I had to redraw that a few times.

Nice work! For some reason this reminds me of Ron Weasley's dress robes, even though there's no frills on this set :)

Also, because I'm not sleepy yet and it's still Sunday: Pinoko is pissed off and she has a daikon. Be afraid.

On Saturday, lizbee pimped who_secrets, in which you submit a secret sentiment you have about any of Doctor Who or its spinooffs, actors, characters, and fandom, in the form of a picture. Anonimity is encouraged, and I'm not usually a supporter of that sort of thing, but I took it as a challenge to a) decide what fandom secrets I held, and b) to translate that into an image.

So I came up with this:

Aw. Yeah, I saw that. I'm still trying to scrub the last remnants of RADW from my brain, though. Maybe your fond memories are older than my nasty ones, I dunno. By the time I got there it was just a cesspool full of the rejects of fandom slinging mud at each other.

Maybe... When were you there? My first post was September 29, 1999*

It certainly wasn't easy.. and I know its horrible reputation (that's why I put my avatar in a straight jacket and padded cell). But I learned to sift through the topic titles, and I gravitated toward the ones that were combinations of philosophy, history, and quantum physics decussions.

And if I hadn't stumbled on RADW, I never would have met gordon_r_d, snowgrouse alryssa, rob_t_firefly, scarfman, or pedanther. And it was gordon_r_d who sponsored my joining LiveJournal. And it was from LJ that I learned about DWchat on IRC, and it was there that I met you, nexstarman and beebleblog. ...So, all-in-all, I'd never swap my time there for anything, if it would have meant giving up the good...

*I just did a search of Google Groups. The archive doesn't go back that far, but I found my repost of my very first post to radw, seven months later: Mushy, OTT love letter to Rec.arts.drwho [first posted on 9/29/99] (yes, there was a flamewar going on, and I was trying to counter by spreading a ( ... )

And I like your font choices in the giggling icon. They give the different giggles personality. ^^

Evening, what? It's a quarter past three on Monday afternoon here. And I keep looking at this comm all week anyways.

I love your detail work on all the different textures -- her hair, the hard plastic on her helmet seal, the crinkliness of the spacesuit fabric.

Ah ha! Saved by time zones! It's almost 20:30 in the evening here, I will be going to bed in an hour (and this entry was item 41 on my friends page).

Thank you for the feedback, it's really helpful to have this sort of critique.

I agree with indefatigable42; I also like how the curtain in the background is ever so slightly out of focus -- gives a sense of depth.

Only... I couldn't find the "full size" link on the scrapbook page... I might be looking in the wrong place...
