Lovely! What era corset? And did your poor sister have to wear a period corset? Cause I've heard those are the real killers. Zee pics are verra nice, but a tad small. Can't see your expression verra well.

It's a Victorian corset, but lengthened so that it will do for the early Edwardian period as well. This dress is sort of 1890s-ish - it's not really a historical pattern, but it has the feel. And since I fitted it to my corset it looks a lot more "period" than the original pattern did!

My sister is not wearing a corset - though for the Romantic era, which that dress is from, the corsets are much more comfortable - corded, with the only boning being a "busk" down the centre front for support and to give a straight line. I'm planning to make myself one - then I can give a report on the comfort level. As far as the Victorian/Edwardian one... after a whole night of dancing I was really glad to get it off. But once you figure out how to move the way you need to, it's not bad at all (since I don't tight lace.)
