 Chapter 3

It was cold; very very cold. Jaejoong folded his arms, bringing them closer to his body as he walked towards the same park he went to with Yunho on that fateful date, well, if you could call it a date. Unlike the previous day, the park was empty and Yunho was sitting on a swing by himself, wearing dark jeans, leather jacket and a long scarf around his neck.

Jaejoong buried his face in his own scarf and walked closer to the other man. “Hi” He said.

“You really came.” Yunho replied, pushing the swing away to stand on his feet.

“What? You thought I would ditch you?” Jaejoong questioned.

“You can’t blame me,” Yunho replied with a smile. “I wanted to make sure you’re sincere enough.”

“So you chose a school night, right after practice and a cold day to test my sincerity!” Jaejoong shook his head.

“Best situation.” Yunho shrugged, smile still stretched on his face.

“I’m not a horrible person,” Jaejoong puffed his cheeks. “And I’m not a liar. I said I would text you and I was going to.” He continued, forming another pout to show his protest.

Yunho raised his eyebrows and bit his lips. “Stop doing this.”

“Doing what?”

“Pouting,” Yunho said. “It makes me want to kiss you.”

Jaejoong rolled his eyes. “God, you sound like Yoochun, please just…” he waved his hand in the air. “Just don’t.”

“Yoochun?” the basketball player quirked his eyebrows.

“Yes, he’s my roommate. Can we walk, please? It’s freezing.”

“Yeah sure. Want to get coffee?”

“God, I’d love you for a chocolate latte,” He quickly turned to Yunho. “Don’t take it literally.”

Yunho laughed. “Fine,” He walked beside Jaejoong, feeling giddy in his guts. “So you said your roommate was Yoochun? Isn’t he…”

“Changmin’s boyfriend? Yes, that’s him,” Jaejoong shivered from the memories of walking on the two sexing each other up. “Believe me, if you see what I always see, you will never, ever, ever, ever call me a homophobe again.”

“Wait!” Yunho stopped on his track. “So you’re the poor straight roommate who always walks on them?” Yunho laughed. “Wow.”

“Wait, what?” Jaejoong opened his mouth in disbelief. “Which one of them called me the poor straight guy?”

“That would be Changmin. He said it’s too bad that you’re straight.” Yunho continued to walk, Jaejoong walking faster to catch up with him.

“Why is that?”

Yunho scanned Jaejoong’s body and then threw him a grin. “’Cause you’re hot.” He said before opening the café’s door.

Jaejoong stopped on his track, biting his lips and staring at Yunho’s back, unable to come up with a reply.

“You coming?” Yunho kept the door open for Jaejoong.

“Yeah sure.”

They ordered their coffee; Yunho wanted to choose an isolated table but Jaejoong preferred a table by the window. Yunho wanted to smile, but he kept it in.

“God, this is so good.” Jaejoong hummed in appreciation. He took off his jacket and hung it on the chair.

“Their dark coffee is the best.” Yunho commented, sipping from his coffee.

“It’s so warm in here.” Jaejoong smiled.

“Yeah, it is.” the other nodded in agreement.

A few minutes passed without anyone muttering a word. They just enjoyed their coffee while watching people walk in the street. Although it was quite for some time, it didn’t feel awkward.

“So Jaejoong…” Yunho began. “What’s your major?”

“Oh!” Jaejoong tilted his head. “I’m in the art college, a fine art major.”

Yunho titled his face in confusion. “You don’t look like an artist,” He said. “But you dance!”

“Dancing is just a hobby,” Jaejoong shrugged, ignoring Yunho’s comment about him not looking like an artist. “I wasn’t good at it at first.”

“You weren’t?” Yunho rested his arms on the table.

“No!” Jaejoong laughed. “Whenever someone asked me to dance I would do -the octopus dance-“ he quoted the last bit with his fingers.

“The octopus dance?” Yunho’s smile was wide on his face.

“You know,” Jaejoong laughed, waving his arms on his sides like an octopus, “The octopus dance.”

Yunho threw his head back with a laugh, an image of Jaejoong dancing like octopus forming in his head.

“Now now,” Jaejoong raised an eyebrow. “It’s not THAT funny.”

“Oh yes it is,” Yunho wiped the tears from his eyes. “I used to do that too,”

Jaejoong leaned on the table as well, unaware that they were getting closer than before.

“You dance?”

“I had a crew.” Yunho grinned.

“What? Shut up.” Jaejoong hit Yunho’s arm playfully. “Tell me about it, are you still part of the crew? Do you perform? What kind of dance…”

“Woah! Woah! Woah!” Yunho stopped the other from showering him with more questions. “It was before college, way before. I stopped.”

Jaejoong’s face fell. “Why? Weren’t you good?”

Yunho grinned, eyes falling on Jaejoong’s hands. “Actually, I was pretty much the best.” He laughed. “But…”

“But?” Jaejoong questioned.

“I found basketball and I just… fell in love- I guess.”

Jaejoong watched Yunho’s finger trace the rim of his coffee cup and he couldn’t really help but mentally praise how long his fingers were.

“So what are you majoring at?” He asked instead.

“Business,” Yunho answered. “Finance major.”

Jaejoong raised an eyebrow. “You don’t look like a finance major type.” he narrowed his eyes after.

“What does finance people look like?” Yunho asked with a silly grin on his face.

“Well, I don’t know. Just not… you,” He sipped the last bit of his coffee. “So did you choose it or was it your parents?”

Yunho laughed. “Why does everyone think that parents force their kids to study business?” He shrugged his shoulders. “I like numbers. I like analyzing numbers and I love all the stock market crap and everything that comes with it. It makes me think and I like thinking.” He nodded his head after he finished. “Yeah, I love it.” He concluded with a smile.

“Oh well,” Jaejoong smiled. “It’s great that you’re doing what you love.”

“Wanna go somewhere else?” Yunho asked pointing at the door. “If we stayed here, I’d end up with another cup of coffee and I can’t afford that. I need to sleep tonight.”

“You have an early class?” Jaejoong asked, already on his feet.

“An eight o’clock class; Financial Accounting, the worst thing to start your day with.” Yunho replied, wearing his jacket and wrapping his scarf around his neck.

“Sounds boring.” Jaejoong made a face.

“Yeah, welcome to the business world.” Yunho opened the door for Jaejoong.

“My first class starts at ten.” Jaejoong teased with a smile.

“Lucky bitch,” Yunho chuckled before straightening his face. “You weren’t offended right?”

Jaejoong turned and shook his head. “Everyone tells me the same. Because really, I am a lucky bitch this semester.”

Yunho laughed and walked beside Jaejoong. The art student walked with a smile on his face, thinking that hanging out with Yunho wasn’t that bad. They talked and it wasn’t awkward or anything unusual. He turned his head and saw the pet shop they passed by the other day.

“Oh, the pet shop,” Jaejoong pointed out. “Let’s take a look.”

Yunho lowered his head and grinned; Jaejoong didn’t know what that smile meant. The bells at the door jingled as they entered the shop, Jaejoong went immediately towards the cage where the puppy was while Yunho went to look at the fishes.

“Excuse me,” Jaejoong called the shop owner.

“Yes?”

“Where is the puppy that was here?”

“Oh you don’t know?” The man asked, scratching his head. “Your friend over there bought it the other day.”

Jaejoong looked up at the shop owner, mouth opening in astonishment. “When did he buy it?”

“The same day you were here. He came before I closed and bought it. It’s a very expensive dog though.” He laughed, patting Jaejoong’s shoulder before leaving to another customer.

The art student looked at the empty cage and then back at Yunho. Still siting with his weight resting on his knees, Jaejoong’s eyes trailed on the basketball player. The other taller man was standing in front of another puppy’s cage, smiling and talking enthusiastically with the little animal. A smile blossomed on Jaejoong’s face when the shop owner allowed Yunho to hold the puppy in his hands, making the art student admit that the scene was quite charming and adorable.

“He’s sweet.” Jaejoong mumbled to himself. He always loved animals but sadly enough, the feeling wasn’t mutual. Animals hated him. He pouted in jealousy, remembering his parent’s dog that never spared him a glance. He tried his luck with cats and Jiji, his cat’s name, scratched him more than licked him.

“Yo!”

Jaejoong blinked and looked up only to find Yunho staring down at him with a smile. “What’re you thinking about?”

“Animals hate me,” Was Jaejoong’s reply.

“No they don’t.” Yunho chuckled.

“Yes, they do,” Jaejoong took a deep breath, standing up. “You bought the puppy.” He stated as he went out of the shop, Yunho trailing behind him.

“Yeah,” Yunho smiled sheepishly. “I named him Typhoon.”

“Is it allowed to have a dog at the dorms?” Jaejoong asked.

“I begged for permission and the guys loved Typhoon so much, so everyone begged with me.” He told Jaejoong with a proud smile. “So, we were allowed to keep him, except that he’s not allowed inside the dorm.”

Jaejoong nodded with a hum.

They walked the rest of the way in silence. However, it was a comfortable silence where they just stared at people and shops without saying a word.

“Oh, we’re here,” Jaejoong said standing in front of the building. “You don’t live in this dorm, do you?”

“No, we moved to the new building once construction was over.”

“That explains why I’ve never seen you before.” Jaejoong commented, kicking an invisible rock.

“And I’m sort of in my second year.” Yunho replied with a chuckle.

“Ooooh! So I’m your hyung.” He smiled widely.

“I guess you are.” Yunho nodded his head, eyes lowered to focus on Jaejoong’s legs. He shifted in his spot and looked around the block.

“So…” Jaejoong began. “This was a better date.” He said smiling.

“That wasn’t a date.” Yunho replied with a shake of his head.

“Huh?” Jaejoong’s head snapped up, wide eyes staring at Yunho’s. “Then what was it?”

Yunho took a few steps closer to the other man. “It was a get to know each other.” He smiled.

“Oh?”

“Besides…” Yunho continued. “You said you would call for another date, so I’m still waiting.” He shrugged his shoulder.

“Right.” Jaejoong nodded his head once. “I owe you a date.”

“And Jaejoong,”

“Hm?”

“I’m…” Yunho rubbed his hands together. “I’m really sorry about what happened the other day. I was a dick for threatening you to go on a date with me. That was pretty stupid of me.”

Jaejoong let out a small chuckle. “It’s ok. I’ll get over it. But yeah, you were a dick.”

Yunho laughed. “Well then-“ he took another step closer to Jaejoong and planted a quick kiss on his forehead. Before Jaejoong could respond, he turned on his heels and started walking.

“Good night.” Yunho said, turning to face Jaejoong as he walked backward.

Jaejoong stood in his spot, frozen yet again. He blinked once, then twice before his hand flew to touch his forehead.

“What was that?” He asked himself, caressing his forehead. He felt his cheeks heating up, and he cupped them in his palms and pushed until his mouth formed a pout.

He looked at the direction Yunho took and shivered.

“Oh wow”

Yunho skipped his way to his room while singing something romantic. He pushed his room’s door wide open and sang louder before freezing on his spot.

“Jesus fuck,” Changmin cursed, flipping on his stomach and throwing the blanket on his and his boyfriend’s naked bodies.

“Fuck Changmin, gently. Shit.” Yoochun shouted.

“Would you please? Shit.”

Yunho watched in amusement as his roommate and his boyfriend were tangled in a mess of legs and blankets. He crossed his arms and pushed the door close with his foot.

“I thought you guys fucked just a couple of hours ago.” Yunho commenting, taking his jacket off.

“What can I do? He can’t get enough of me.” Changmin smirked.

“Lying asshole, you called me and said you missed me already.” Yoochun elbowed Changmin’s ribs, making the other groan in pain.

“Oh I remembered, you two fucking assholes!” Yunho pointed an accusing finger at Changmin and Yoochun. “You didn’t tell me Jaejoong was your freaking roommate.”

Snuggling closer to his boyfriend, Yoochun giggled. “It was more fun watching you crush over my friend like this.”

“You could have set us up together.”

“That’s too pathetic,” Changmin shook his head. “Even for you, hyung.”

The groan Yunho let out was muffled as he dropped his head on his bed.

Yoochun smirked and pretended to look around. “Where’s Jae?”

Yunho laughed out a whine.

Changmin looked at Yoochun, mirroring his smirk and pointing at his roommate. “What’s wrong with him?”

“He’s too gay for Jaejoong, I guess.” Yoochun shrugged.

“Fuck you,” Yunho shouted. “Both of you.”

Yoochun giggled. “Only Changmin fucks me.”

“Unless you want to join.” Changmin added.

Yunho threw them a nasty look.

“Too bad though,” Changmin wrapped a possessive arm around Yoochun’s shoulder. “I don’t like sharing.”

“Awwww,” Yoochun leaned for a kiss.

Yunho whined louder. “Not fair.”

Yoochun giggled. “Someone needs to get laid.”

“The problem is…” Changmin grinned, “I can’t even see it happening in the near future.”

Yunho threw Changmin with his pillow.

+++

Jaejoong was lying on his bed, thinking of Yunho. He looked at the ceiling and hummed as his brain tried to register everything that had happened in the past week. Hyuna confessed, he went out unwillingly on a date with Yunho, then went willingly on another date, which wasn’t even called a date, and he would go out on another date with the man, willingly as well.

He sighed.

He wasn’t going out with Yunho but he had gotten two kisses; one on the cheek and another on the forehead. He touched his forehead and sighed again. Why did he kiss his forehead? And why didn’t he himself react or push him away or even yell at him for kissing him?

Yoochun always kissed his cheek, but not his forehead. He frowned, what did they say forehead kisses meant?

The dorm’s room suddenly cracked open and Yoochun came in sneaking.

“Where the hell were you?” Jaejoong shouted.

“Holy shit,” Yoochun’s hand flew to his chest. “You scared the shit out of me”

Jaejoong flipped on his side, resting his head in his palm. “Keep your shit in your pants. Where were you?”

“I was with Changmin.”

Jaejoong took a few seconds to think. “I thought you were sore.” He asked in disbelief.

“Well, a little blow job won’t hurt anyone,”

Jaejoong sat up immediately. “You blew him too?”

Yoochun laughed. “And even swallowed.”

Jaejoong’s lips twisted. “How is it?” He carefully asked after a few minutes of silence.

“How is what?” Yoochun replied, slipping under his blanket.

“You know…” Jaejoong shrugged. “Having a dick in your mouth.”

Yoochun laughed louder. “Oh God you sound like a virgin.”

“Why would I know anything about dick sucking?”

“Right, you lick pussy.” Yoochun flipped on his side, facing Jae.

“Ewww, what?” Jaejoong made a face.

Yoochun raised an eyebrow. “Interesting.” he continued. “What do you want to know?”

Jaejoong stared at his roommate for a few seconds before dropping on his back. “Nothing.” He ended up saying.

Yoochun shrugged. “For now.”

Jaejoong sighed for the nth time that night, why would he even want to know anything about gay sex?

He took a deep breath, and closed his eyes.
