John McCain chose the Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his vice president..wow haha. He thought about Alaska *sniff* Hehe

Monday's Labor Day and the bookstore's closed then so I'm gonna go on Tuesday. What exactly is Labor Day anyway? And why are you not supposed to wear white? That's silly haha

I'm not sure about the white thing but I know that Labor Day itself is a day for the laborers (aka everyone who has a job) to take the day off. It's kind of a reward of sorts :)

Labor day celebrates the end of summer, being the first Monday of every September, and it commemorates the organization efforts of unions who struggled to create fair and humane work environments for all employees. No one knows for sure about the white rule, but originally, the taboo was against wearing white shoes, not just white in general. The most accepted theory is that during the summer time, people wore white to deflect heat (keep in mind, labor day was formed in the 1880's,) and since Sept. is the end of summer, wearing white would be ignoring - or defying - that summer is over.

I have to work on Labor Day! *CRY* Phil does, too...so at least we can suffer together haha.

I sometimes wear white after Labor Day...don't tell anyone. ;)
