Room 218, Almost Certainly Thursday (Right? Right.) Evening

Mar 15, 2012 19:33

Oh no.

Oh no. Oh no. Oh no.

Karla was standing in the middle of her dorm room, surrounded by piles of...of...of stuff. It was probably for the best that Gabrielle was off in Greece again (though if she knew what was happening to her roommate, she'd rethink that), otherwise she might have gotten lost in the heaping jumbles of books, clothing, ( Read more... )

"Well, have you been feeding him?"

Warren's voice was kind of dry at that, yes.

"Because I could have sworn he was back in New York, living a life of luxury."

Under Warren's bed.

"So you... stole my teddy bear?"

And somehow put him into the bag that he'd carried the soup here in. Or maybe that was Fandom. Warren's money was on Fandom.

"I really don't think he minded being under the bed all that much, you know."

But if Karla ever watched those Pixar movies about the toys, he wouldn't have a leg to stand on ever again.

Warren frowned, clutching Buddy closer to his chest as Karla made her reach for him.

"Grabbing Buddy was the last thing on my mind both times I left home, you know. I kind of figured that much was sort of a given."

Yes, Warren was absolutely going to play the 'extenuating circumstances' card, here. And, for good measure, wrap his wings around himself and the bear, too.

"Hey!" Karla argued. "So you left him without a backwards glance, I saved him, but now you get to claim him? How is that even fair?"

Karla, you stole a bear from Warren's bedroom, you didn't rescue him from a burning building. And, besides, hadn't her excuse plan been all along that she was going to give him back eventually?

Oh, he was going to be all that way about it. Buddy had been there for things that Karla hadn't even been a thought for, yet.

And considering how vastly differently their respective timelines flowed, there was a good chance that her parents hadn't been a thought yet, either. Which was one of those things probably best left not dwelt upon for long.

"Ask the island," Warren grumbled, unfolding his wings and turning over the bear, inspecting him for... Warren wasn't sure. Cooties or something. "It isn't like I lost it on purpose."

"Right. But I didn't steal your soup, either," Warren sighed. And then he folded the bear in his arms again and just kind of clung to it.

Which was something that any normal nineteen year-old would do in this situation, okay? Shut up.

"I can't believe you just took him and didn't even tell me."
