"Of course not, silly," Karla replied as if this were the most obvious thing in the world. "There's a reason females don't wear Rings of Honor. We may be a ballsy lot, but not that much."
"Well, I can easily think of one reason someone would be able to see it," Karla said with a little smirk. "No vows of chastity are sworn when the contract is signed."
Then her smirk turned more into a genuine smile. "It's a symbol between the Queen and her males--a symbol of absolute trust. He is completely vulnerable to her, at least for the duration of his contract. Which means a Queen has to think long and hard about whether she is going to be worthy of that trust he is offering her."
"Very potent," Karla assured him, pun most definitely intended. "But...looking at them, it makes it feel more real, somehow. In as little as a year and a half, I could be setting up a Court."
"Darkness, no! Ben, what are you thinking of? I'm pretty sure that I can trust whoever I invite into my Court to be capable of putting on their own Ring!"
"Of course there's a ceremony! But it isn't an orgy or anything!"
Though, in all honesty, Karla didn't really know how these ceremonies went or if the Rings were put on right then. Surely someone would have said something, if that were the case.
