After a brief pit stop at the other island off the coast of San Francisco (look, Alcatraz loomed large in Karla's recollections; there was a lot of
trauma associated there), Karla and the others made their way to Utopia--which, truth be told, probably should have been their first stop, consider how utterly ridiculous it
looked. Was there some kind

He was waiting for a lift out of here. He wasn't talking to anyone until he had that much. And in the meantime, his eyes were going to be on his knees, staring through his flames.

"Don't worry," Karla said brightly to Scott. "You'll understand why he's laughing in just a moment. In fact, if you wanted to turn around now, you'll probably understand immediately."
Probably being key, here. Karla didn't think much of Scott's powers of perception--and that wasn't an eyesight joke.
"Thank you, gentlemen. We've got Jono now, so we'll be on our way. Your hospitality has been most...well, let's not go into details. Ready, Raven?"
Reply
"Excuse us, please!" Blossom carried Jono in her arms past the strange man and towards her team, floating rather higher than normal so that the long coat of Jono's that she was wearing wouldn't drag the ground.
...
"Thank you for your hospitality."
What? Blossom was raised to be polite.

Still, it had been what, HOURS? since Karla and Raven had gone in and left Blossom hovering outside? TOTALLY hours. Yes. Okay, maybe ten minutes.
Could she blow up a wall now please and do some rescuing? Ooh. Wait... was that a window?
It was! And Blossom was tappity tap tapping on it trying to get the attention of the occupant inside.

He glanced up at said window, and then blinked. The window was closed, but it hardly made any difference when he was speaking. He kept his words between himself and the girl outside, so as to not distract Scott from... well... his current distraction.
//Blossom?//
Really, she was forever going to be the one to sneak her way past the healing staff in order to save what was left of his sanity, wasn't she?

Eek! It had been forever since she'd heard that voice, and even though she'd been prepared for it from seeing the picture on Karla's phone... It was still a punch to the stomach.
She didn't let it show on her face (hopefuly) and instead gave him a thumbs up and then a questioning look. "You," she mouthed as she pointed at him. "Okay?" And made an ok sign with her fingers.

He'd figure out just how okay he was doing... eventually.
//Alive, at least. They send you around the back door while Karla and Raven picked a fight with Summers?//
Let's be clear, here-- Jono was not actually giving Karla that much credit as a strategist. They'd met. But it was as close to a lighthearted comment as he was going to make right about now, too.

She shook her head and tapped her cheek a moment, then tried to mime how she'd been assigned as lookout and... well... It pretty much looked like she was crazy. Good luck figuring that out, Jono.
She did finally pull a pair of handcuffs from her pocket and held them up. Then she pointed from them to him with a questioning look. Are you a prisoner, Jono?
Reply
Sorry, Momoko. You'd just earned a long, slow blink from Jon while he stared at those handcuffs. See, Jonothon's use of handcuffs and your own... probably differed somewhat.
//I... er. I'll open the window.//
Hopefully that answered that.

"Oh. It opens?" Blossom leaned through the opening with a smile. "That's totally easier. Although I was kind of looking forward to breaking it to rescue you. This is totally ending up a boring mission; I haven't had to use a weapon yet and I even brought along my gun!"
She gave him a concerned look-over. "Other than the obvious, you're not hurt, right? Sorry we're so late; Karla was sure you were being held prisoner at Alcatraz."

//She... is aware that Alcatraz is an out-of-commission tourist trap, right?//
He had to check.
//As opposed to the fallen asteroid with a city on it and people flying about under their own power and all?//

"And you didn't answer my question. Are you okay? You're not being experimented on or magically oppressed or something?" If you can't answer without lying, wiggle a finger or something, Jono.

It was so strange, equating Magneto in his mind to both a terrorist across multiple realities and the general who had kept the last vestiges of mutantkind alive in a fortress fashioned out of stolen pieces of New York.
//I'm... fine, mostly. I think. It's been a long... day. But the tests they've been running are... fairly standard.//
You know, the usual, checking his DNA to be certain he was really him, x-rays to show just how much of him was missing. Keeping an eye on him to be certain he didn't do anything desperate while coming to terms with all of this.
//... Missed Christmas, didn't I?//
Priorities.

She floated forward to hug him, fire or not. "You ready to go home?"
