You make me feel inspired to get more plants! I'm really bad with them... I try to do everything right but sometimes they still die. :

My suggestion is that you start with a philodendron. They are very hardy - in fact, they're almost impossible to kill. If we lived closer, I would give you a cutting from my 30 year old philo. They're great plants and if treated right, they grow like mad. You can usually find them in any store that sells plants - I've seen them in grocery store floral departments and Wal*Mart, as well as actual plant stores.
