Two quick Drupal things

The folks running Drupal.org thought they would upgrade the site from Drupal 5 to Drupal 6 tonight and proceeded to take the entire site down, not even leaving a copy in any sort of "read only" mode. It was supposed to be back up by 5 PM EST. Clearly that has not happened yet. Not only has the Drupal team been not very forthcoming on what the ( Read more... )

Is the url in your first link meant to be drupa.org or drupal.org?

I use Drupal for a coupla sites too. It's good stuff...good enough to endure PHP for.

I'm not a huge fan of drupal, and that said I run a drupal site myself. I don't see Drupal as ideal for the same reason I believe "Generic Database Designs" are stupid.

What I get out of it is economy of scale. I currently run 5 different sites that are Drupal-powered (soon to be 6). Rather than learning a different CMS for each, it's just a matter of installing different modules for each site, as per its requirements. Lets me do more with less effort.
