I know I promised to weird you all out with my RoV shipping theories next time but I actually think I need to do some re-watching first. So as a stand in, I will talk at you about... something else. Although if you actually want a coherent and balanced summary of the series this may not be the post for you.

Some people apparently do not understand how Kaoru and Rei's relationship could be interpreted as in any way lesbian.

It HAS a plot! It's just a ridiculous one involving everyone being related to everyone else, etc. etc. Mostly it just has drama and sparkles, of course, but.

I'm in this for Rei's melodramatic fabulousness, though, so I don't really care.

I will admit that Riyoko Ikeda's manga is oftentimes so sparkly that the sparkles become the plot. Which is okay by me!

Oh, well then. That is absolutely heterosexual and not suspicious at all. I mean, female friends hug all the time! Obviously naked hugging in bed is just a subset of that. Absolutely.

...I can't even think of a reason why one would want to argue there was nothing lesbian about their relationship. I was under the impression that people generally read angsty 70s yuri for the lesbians, but what do I know?
