Scully holds Mulder's hand all the way into Magnus' office like a lifeline. It's funny how she can't admit Mulder is the father anywhere but here. She still hasn't told Dana, or her mother. At least she has a few weeks before she mentions it to anyone else.

Mulder's face is almost unreadable and she wonders what he's thinking.

"Thank you for making time for my paranoia, doctor."

"As normal, yes. Unless there is another procedure you'd like to have done first?" Helen asks.

"No, that's fine. I'm sorry." She wasn't this nervous before her FBI exam. She looks at Mulder before meeting Helen's eyes.

"I'm nervous."

He's nervous as well. He shoots Scully a reassuring look.

"So, you've got a whole set up here for this kind of thing?"

"I do." Helen stands and motions for them to follow her. "I have an entire medical facility on site."

Scully keeps Mulder's hand as they follow Doctor Magnus, but she has to release it when Helen takes her blood.

"Thank you, doctor," she offers, oddly relieved. "I know I'm probably being foolish. Having someone tell you the obvious helps sometimes."
