I believe so. We weren't really big on birthdays at home.

Parties. Lovely. I have the distinct feeling that any party will quickly spiral out of my control should certain people find out about this.

Well, within reason and the mortal 'law', of course, but it is your day. If you wish to have a party or go somewhere special, do so!
