Ugh, I'm so sorry. I hope it heals up quickly. Frozen vegetables are actually great for this kind of thing (well, peas or corn) because they can be molded very closely around whatever you're icing (this I know from experience).

Oh! And see if you can get worker's comp. Also, L&I should cover any hospital bills for it, since you got hurt on the job. I would really encourage you to get it checked out; this could turn into a serious problem if it's actually broken or there's a torn ligament or something. I really hope your injury turns out to be something minor, and either way, I hope you feel better soon.

I second this. Go to a clinic and tell them it was an on the job accident. You will be seen and they will most likely (99.99999%) take x-rays to ensure it isn't broken. You will be given a state government form to fill out, but believe me it is much more preferable than not seeing a doctor.

(Did I mention this is what I do for a living... working in an occupational medicine clinic seeing the people who have hurt themselves on the job? Get ye out the door now and to a clinic- preferably occ-med- and get this taken care of.)

Alternately, you might consider this:

I've heard good things about it- inexpensive medical care, no crazy insurance companies.

Feel better!
