Summary: Lee Taemin was everything Minho wanted in a lover. He was the boy he wanted to come home to. The kind of boy that he never wanted to leave. The kind of boy that makes Minho want to give him everything. And finally it seemed like that he was finally going to get what he wanted. Taemin was breaking up with Sulli to be with him. He couldn't be happier. But just how long will their happiness last? Minho knew the kind of storm that would brew once Taemin broke up with Sulli, but he didn't care. He was going to stay by Taemin, no matter what. As long as the younger's heart was beating next to his, he didn't care. (sorry I suck at summaries)
A/N: Sorry, no jazzhyun in this chapter either. But drama will definitely happen in the next chapter. This is just more fluff to add to the story. 2min's date is too sweet. COMMENTS ARE ALWAYS APPRECIATED AND LOVED!
CHAPTER SIX
“Just kidding,” I laughed as I took a few more fries and stuffed them in my mouth.
“You’re seriously acting like you have a baby in there,” Minho laughed and rubbed my stomach.
“Stop that,” I smack his hand away. I grabbed another fry and was about to put it in my mouth, but he beats me too it, “HEY! I was going to eat that.”
“So was I,” he says matter of factly.
“If you wanted me to feed you, you just had to ask,” he looks at me and just opens his mouth. I giggle and place a fry inside.
“Thank you babe.”
“No problem. By the way, what’s in the bag?” I ask, pointing to the gift shop bag at his feet.
“I saw something in the window that was for babies, so I got it as a little ‘Congratulations on your baby’ gift for Jjong hyung and Jazzy.”
“Can I see?”
“Later.”
“Why not now?”
“Your hands are all oily from the fries. You’ll ruin it.”
“What if I went to go wash them? Then can I see it.”
“I said I’ll show you it later. Let’s just continue with our date okay?” he kisses me softly on the lips then turns his attention to the untouched drink on the table. He quickly stabs both straws in the drink and takes a sip using one of them. I take it from his hands and drink from the same straw, “That totally defeats the purpose of me getting two straws.”
“Why did you get two straws anyways? Afraid you might get my cooties?”
“I don’t know. I didn’t know if you wanted to share a straw or have your own.”
“You act like we having exchanged saliva before. We make out all the time Minho. Sharing a straw is no big deal to me.”
“Well some people can be anal about those kinds of things.”
“I guess,” I pull out the unused straw and place it back on the table.
“So where do you want to go and eat?”
“I don’t know. I’m not too hungry now that I have a snack in me. So maybe we can just walk around a little bit until we see some place that catches our eyes.”
“Sounds good to me. You ready?” I take the last few fries and stuff them in my mouth earning a hearty laugh from my boyfriend.
“You’re so cute,” he says and pinches my cheek before grabbing the now empty plate and throwing it away. I was about to take a peak inside the bag, but he’s back before I have a chance to even lean down. Damn him and his freakishly long legs.
“Ready baby?” he picks up the bag and holds out his other hand towards me.
“Yeah,” I grab it, lacing our fingers as we join the group of people at the exit. We begin to stroll around the town much like we did in the zoo. We’d stop occasionally when something in a window caught our eyes and sometimes we’d go into the shop to look at it further. I was definitely enjoying myself. Our date wasn’t a big, extravagant event, it was sweet and laid back. Just how I wanted it to be. As long as I was spending time with him that’s all that matter.
I leaned into his body as a breeze started to pick up around his. He didn’t say a word, just let go of my hand so he could wrap his arm around my waist. I bask in the warmth of his body as I softly collide with it. The wind blows his scent into my face and I take a deep breath. He smelled like Irish Spring soap. Nice and clean. It wasn’t too overpowering, just enough to tickle my senses. I liked that he wasn’t a cologne person. Even his natural scent was kind of sweet smelling.
“Minnie?”
“Hm?”
“Wanna go catch a movie before we head to dinner?”
“Sure. I think the fries can tide me over until then. That is if we can get popcorn at the movies.”
“Whatever you want baby,” we cross the street towards the movie theater and stand in front of all the posters of the films that were currently playing.
“Which one do you want to see?” I ask him.
“I don’t care.”
“Do you have one that you’ve been dying to see?”
“No. I don’t really stay up to date with the movies.”
“Why not?”
“Don’t watch much TV. I’d rather read a book.”
“You’re such a nerd sometimes.”
“A nerd that you’re hopelessly in love with.”
“You got the hopeless part right.”
“Which one do you want to see?”
“I don’t care. You choose.”
“I chose the zoo, so you choose the movie.”
“We can watch that new scary movie.”
“Sure it won’t give you nightmares?”
“I’ll be fine if you’re with me.”
“Well I’ll be with you during the movie, but I was talking about tonight.”
“So was I,” I smirk at him and kiss his lips before walking over to the box office. I tell clerk I want two tickets to the new scary movie and I’m about to pay when Minho slips her the money from behind me, “I was going to pay you know.”
“You don’t have to.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m the one who invited you on this date, therefore I get to lead it. And I don’t want you to pay for anything, so don’t worry about it.”
“Are you sure? I have no problem paying you know.”
“I’m sure. Now come on, we’re holding up the line,” he pulls me to the side and we walk into the theater. I walk up to the candy counter and order a medium popcorn, gummi bears, and two waters. I make sure I have my money ready before Minho can pull the same trick on me again. The cashier gives me a warm smile as she hands me my change and I walk back to Minho.
“I thought you said that you were going to pay for everything,” I tease as he takes the popcorn from my hand so he can hold it again.
“I was about to go over there and pay, but you already had your money out and ready. So I figured you’d be pissed if I pulled that on you again.”
“You’re right I would have been pissed. Now let’s go the movie is going to start in like ten minutes and I want to get decent seats,” we walk over to the usher and Minho hands him our tickets. He ripes them in half before motioning down the hallway towards the correct theater will be. Before we start to walk to our theater he gives us a ‘enjoy your movie’ that had the tone of ‘I’d rather give myself a root canal than be here’ to it.
We entered the theater and I began to scan the room for the perfect seats. We couldn’t be too close to the screen or to far. We had to be more towards the middle of the room rather than at the aisle. I didn’t want too many people in our row just in case we had to use the bathroom. I finally spotted the perfect seats and began to tug Minho up the stairs. We were a few rows up and about the fourth seat in. I hoped that no one would come to claim the empty seats going towards the aisle, but then figured they’d probably stay empty since the movie would be starting soon.
“These seats are really nice,” Minho said as he rocked back and forth in his chair. They were pretty much recliners. You were able to lean back if you wanted too plus they were nice and cushioned.
“Look babe,” I said as I pushed the arm rest between up upwards, “Now we can cuddle during the movie.”
“Why wait until the movie?” he wraps his arms around me and pulls me close to him. I lean into his body and smile. I feel eyes on us from the people that were sitting a few chairs away, but I don’t care. It’s not my fault that their partner wasn’t as hot or affectionate as my Minho. I want to turn to them and tell them off, but I decide it’s not worth my energy. They were just jealous that’s all.
“Want some popcorn?” Minho grabs the bag off the floor and holds it between us.
“Yes please,” I take a handful and start to eat it. Occasionally I hold my hand up to Minho and I watch as his head dips down and captures a few kernels with his mouth. The lights in the room start to dim as the previews begin to play.
Minho and I sit there in our seats commenting on every single one of the previews. We briefly voice our opinions about the actors, plot, title, and if we’d wanna go and see it or not before the next preview shows. After about twenty minutes of previews the lights are turned off completely and the room in flooded into darkness for a brief moment before the screen lights up, practically blinding everyone in the room.
I immediately get sucked into the film as I find myself sitting on the edge of the chair as the movie progresses. Minho on the other hand, doesn’t seem to care of it. I can tell that he’s getting bored by the way he’s yawning and lazily stroking my side. He had a habit of doing this before he fell asleep. I was going to ask him if he just wanted to leave since the movie wasn’t interesting to him, but every time I would turn to him to do so, something exciting would happen in the movie and I’d forget all about it.
Minho did however, love the way the movie made me jump in my seat and bury my head into his chest when things got too scary. I would feel him tighten his grasp on me and his soft breath on the top of my head. I loved the feeling of security I had whenever I was with him. From now on, I was going to make sure that no matter what scary movie it is, no matter how many times I’ve seen it, I wasn’t going to watch it unless Minho was by my side. Halfway through the movie, I’m practically sitting on his lap and burying my head into his shirt every two minutes.
“We can leave now if you want Minnie. If the movie is getting too scary for you.”
“No, I’ll be okay. I’m really into the movie and I’d hate myself if I left now before finding out what exactly will happen.”
We get a shush from the other couples in our row and I turn to glare at them. Why? Because it was not ordinary shush. I was loud and obnoxious. Like they went to school to learn the proper way to shush a person. If Key were here, his diva side definitely would have come out, but we just ignored them.
Minho placed a kiss on my temple when I snuggled into him again because something popped out of no where on the screen. His hand rubs wrap around me and start to rub my back. I shudder as I continue to watch the screen between the fingers of the hand that I had up to my face.
“You sure it’s not too scary?”
“Yeah,” I accidentally let out a yelp when the killer comes out of no where and murders the person on the screen rather grotesquely.
“That’s it, no more for you,” Minho pulls me up out of my seat and drags me down the stairs. I try to make him stop, but it’s no use. He’s too strong for me.
“I wanted to watch the rest of that!” I whine once we’re safely out of the theater.
“Yeah and you’ll be having nightmares for weeks from what you saw. I don’t want to make that months.”
“You’re no fun.”
“Sure I am.”
“No you’re not,” I pout and cross my arms over my chest.
“Aigo, my boyfriend is upset with me,” he laughs as he pulls me into a hug. I remain in the position I’m in and huff into his chest, “Aw, baby don’t be mad. You know you’ll thank me later.”
“No I won’t. Now I’ll have to pay again just to see the rest of the movie. You’re not coming with me next time.”
“Then who will you hold onto during the scary parts?”
“Whoever I bring along with me.”
“Are you planning on going on a date behind my back?”
“Maybe.”
“Ah, I see how it is,” I feel his arms leave my body and he starts to walk towards the exit. Shit, maybe I went a little too far with that last statement.
“Minho, wait up!” I say as I walk after him. He continues to walk as if he didn’t hear me calling. I break out in a light jog just to catch up to him outside the building. I wrap my hand around his wrist and pull on it, causing him to stop in his tracks.
“What?” he says without turning around to face me.
“I didn’t mean that back there. I would never go on a date with someone else behind your back. So please don’t be mad at me baby,” I say as I wrap my hands around his waist and hug him from behind. I rub my face against his back, the wool of his jacket lightly scratching my cheek.
“How can I be mad at you Minnie?” his arm winds around behind him and pulls me in front so we’re facing each other.
“But the way you stormed off like that?”
“I was just messing with you.”
“You’re so mean. I thought you were really mad at me!” I playfully hit his chest and he laughs.
“I had to have some kind of fun with you.”
“I hate you.”
“No you don’t.”
“Yes I do.”
“You love me. You want to kiss me. Hug me and marry me,” he says in a sing songy voice while pulling me closer to him.
“You’re so weird sometimes.”
“Yet you love me anyways.”
“Not by choice.”
“Ouch, that hurts. You’ve been hanging out with Jazzy too much, haven’t you?”
“Maybe. I’m glad we’re closer though. I can see why she’s your best friend,” I lean up on my tippy toes and place a soft kiss on his lips.
“Yeah. So you ready for some dinner now?”
“I am. Let’s go find some place to eat shall we?”
*~*
I stop in my tracks as I catch the sight across the street from me, “Daddy, I need to go. I’ll call you in a later,” I say as I hang up my phone and begin to stare at the couple across the street.
“Sulli? Come on, the shop’s gonna close in an hour if you want to get there in time we need to move it!” Luna says a few feet away from me.
“Luna,” I say and she walks back to my side, “Does that look like Taemin to you?”
Her gaze follows my French-tipped finger and lands on the couple across the street, “A little. I can’t really tell. That tall guy is kind of covering him up.”
“I think that’s him.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“He’s my fiancé Luna! How can I not know what he looks like?”
“I thought he broke off the engagement.”
“That’s what he thinks. Besides, as far as I know, he hasn’t told either of our parents. Therefore, we’re still engaged in their eyes.”
“Sulli, what are you thinking of doing?”
“Nothing.”
“Sulli. I’ve seen that look before. It’s never followed by anything good.”
“Don’t worry about it Luna. I’m positive that’s him though. Who would have thought that my Taeminnie would be out with some other guy embracing on the street?”
“Sulli…”
“Shut up Luna!”
“Whatever.”
I watch as the two continue to cuddle together on the street. Their mouths are moving in a whispered conversation. I can’t help but think that it’s all just too intimate for my liking. Taemin never acted that way with me in pubic, not that I would have enjoyed it but still.
“Luna, who is that guy Taemin is with?”
“I don’t know,” she bends over a little and squints her eyes.
“You know almost everyone in the school Luna. You’re the school gossip, how can you not know who he’s with?”
“I am not the school gossip. I just have connections in finding things out.”
“Well use your connections and find out who that guy is.”
“Fine, fine. But from here he kind of looks like the guy that’s always with Jazzy unnie.”
“That nerd?! No way that’s him.”
“As I keep looking, I’m pretty sure it is him.”
“Taemin dumped me for the bookworm?”
“That’s what it looks like.”
“Find out his name!”
Luna immediately gets out her phone and starts to text people. It isn’t even a minute later when she has an answer, “Choi Minho.”
“Choi Minho. Why does that name sound so familiar,” I tap my finger against my lip as I think about where I’ve heard that name before. Luna’s phone goes off again and she gasps, “What?”
“Choi Minho. Is the name of the school’s ace! Mr. Flaming Charisma himself.”
“No way! Bookworm and Mr. Flaming Charisma is the same person?”
“That’s what I’m hearing.”
I turn back just in time to see Taemin stand on his tippy toes and place a kiss on the other guy’s lips. I almost scream at the sight of it, but clench my fists instead, breathing deeply.
“Sulli, you okay?”
“No,” I continue to watch as they break apart and begin to make their way down the street holding hands.
“Sulli?”
“He broke up with me to be with him?”
“You have to admit Minho oppa is hot.”
“Luna you’re not helping.”
“What?! I’m just stating the truth.”
“Shut up!” I turn on my heels and stomp over to my car.
“Wait, I thought we were going to do a little more shopping!” Luna calls out as she follows me.
“I can’t. I need to talk to my dad.”
“You were just talking to him on the phone.”
“This is more important,” I slide into the backseat followed by Luna and tell the driver to take us to my parents house once he’s behind the wheel. It was time to tell daddy what was going on. It was time for him to make sure his little girl got what she wanted. And what I wanted was Taemin to be heart broken just like I was. I wanted Minho to be ripped right out of his grasp knowing there was nothing he could do to get him back. I wanted him to suffer just like I was suffering.
*~*
“What about that place over there?” I say and point to a quaint little restaurant that seemed to be hidden from the bustle of the streets.
“Okay,” Taemin says and we walk over to the building. It’s situated far enough into a side street that you can’t really see it unless you’re really looking. There were a few tables outside and the place had a homely feel to it. We stepped in and were immediately greeted by an old man standing at the open kitchen.
“Welcome to Ferreli’s! Please just take a seat. We’ll be right with you,” he calls out in a low, but warm voice.
“Thank you,” I say to him before leading Taemin to a table in a secluded corner of the restaurant. I let him slide into the booth first before joining him. A woman in her 40s comes up to us a few minutes later and sets a pair of menus in front of us.
“What can I get you to drink?”
“I’ll just take a water with lemon,” I tell her.
“Can I have a Sprite?” Taemin asks.
“Sure thing. I’ll be right back with your drinks while you look over the menu.”
“Thank you,” we both say.
For the next couple minutes it’s quiet as we both read over the menu and short descriptions of the wide array of dishes the place offered. Everything sounded so good, my mouth was practically watery as I made my way through the menu.
“What are you getting?” Taemin asks me, eyes still roaming over the words in front of him.
“I don’t know yet. Everything sounds so delicious,” the waitress places our drinks in front of us before slipping away to attend to another patron.
“I know. But the chef’s pizza has been catching my eye.”
I read over the description of it, “That does sound good. I think I might get the Bourbon Chicken Wrap.”
“Oh where is that?” I lean over and point it out to him, “That sounds good too.”
“Share?”
“Sounds good to me.”
The waitress comes back to our table and smiles, “Ready to order.”
“Yes we are,” I say, “I’ll have the Bourbon Chicken Wrap and he will have the Chef’s Pizza.”
“Good choice,” she quickly jots is down on her notepad, “I’ll go put in your order.”
“Thank you,” as soon as she leaves, I wrap my arm around Taemin and slide him closer to me. I place a kiss on the top of his head and he giggles, “Have I told you that you look amazing today?”
“Numerous times.”
“Well then let me tell you again,” I bring his face up to meet mine, “You look amazing today.”
“You’re so cheesy,” he says before I steal a short kiss from him.
“So how are you liking our first date?” I ask once we break away from each other.
“I’m loving it.”
“Good.”
We get closer as we wait for our food, voices not going anything about a whisper. Not because we were talking about something private but because we liked the intimate feel. We talked about everything and anything. There was no awkward silences or anything. It was nice and warm and comfortable in our little corner. When the food came, we separated enough so we wouldn’t be hitting each other as we ate.
“Here try it,” he holds up the piece he just took a bite out of to my mouth.
“Let me finish chewing real quick,” I mumble around the food in my mouth. Once I swallow it, I open my mouth and he places the pizza in it so I can bite off a piece.
“How is it?”
“Really good,” I say to him, “Try mine now.”
“Okay.”
“It’s a little messy,” I say as I hold up the wrap to his mouth with one hand and cup my other hand underneath it just in case something falls out when he takes a bite. He leans forward and takes a decent sized bite that causes a few pieces of lettuce and tomato to fall into my hand. I watch as he chews it with a thoughtful expression on his face.
“That is amazing!” he finally says.
“It is,” I laugh.
“What’s so funny?”
“You got some sauce on your face.”
“Where?”
“Here let me get it,” I bring my face close to his and lick the little bit of sauce that was at the corner of his mouth before kissing him.
“Babe,” he softly pushes me away, “People are going to start staring.”
“So let them stare,” I say and lean in to kiss him again. This time he doesn’t protest and kisses me back. It isn’t a long kiss, lasting just long enough to satisfy the both of us.
“I love you,” I whisper into his ear and he let's out a giggle because my breath no doubt tickled it.
“I love you too.”
