The first thing Dean notices is how hot he is. The second, the hum of the blade fan and it's breeze tickling his feet, rustling the curtains on the open window. Sam is happier than he's ever been. Finally settled into their farm. Their home. There was still plenty of work to be done, but they finally had a permanent roof over their heads, and the same mattress to sleep in every single night.

He's slow to wake, but the kiss to the back of his neck rouses him slightly.

"De?" he mutters, pressing back into his brother's warmth.

Dean raises an eyebrow in surprise, not actually expecting a response, but nonetheless pulled Sam back into him, holding him tight. God, he was going to be a sweaty mess when he finally got out of bed, but Sam was comfortable, so he could take it.

"Yeah Sammy." Dean says, kissing him again "Did I wake you?"

Sam turns his head a bit to press a kiss to Dean's arm, letting his eyes slip closed again as he relaxes in his brother's embrace.

"Mmm." Not really an answer, but the best he's got right now. He can tell from the sunlight that it's early, but not early enough for him to go back to sleep.

Dean smiles a bit.

"Guess not."

Carefully, he wiggles his captive arm free from under Sam's head, flexing it a bit and wincing at the tingling numbness. He lingers for a few moments, kissing Sam gently and stroking his hair before pulling away. "Go back to sleep, Sammy." He said, rolling out of bed, which is to say, ungraciously sliding off the mattress "I'll be right back."

Dean quickly tiptoed out of the room before Sam could wake up enough to argue, if he played his cards right, he'd be back before Sam could even manage the 'half-asleep-adorable-complaining'.

'Now... where did he put that waffle iron...?
