Alex had an unlit cigarette dangling between his lips (well, he'd been on his way out to smoke) when he stopped by the open door.

"I'm so sad that I didn't get to throw a snowball at you," he said, sighing. "Feel like I owe you now."

She smirked, turning away from her laptop. "Do you really think you could hit me with one?"

"Never say never, right?" Alex asked, leaning against the door frame. "If you weren't expecting it, I sure as shit think I could have."

"Then telling me you might try was hardly a brilliant plan, was it?" she replied, leaning back in her chair and crossing her legs neatly. "I knew to be on guard."

Jake had class later, but for now he was bored... Look, it was a theme. Whatever.

He was bored and he'd been far too kind to Rosalind lately what with the not annoying her nearly enough. Which was just not allowed and so she had a werewolf ducking into her room as he knocked on the open door.

"You know, it's too early to be working already," he remarked. Not that it was too early. Shhhh.

Rosalind cast a glance at him, mildly amused.

"That's a fine accusation," she said dryly. "When you've not talked to me lately."

"Hey, you didn't talk to me," he protested instantly, and he was subtly going to move closer to see what she was up to. "And I am making up for it right now."

"I wasn't aware you wished me to," she replied, arching an eyebrow. The site behind her was a list of searches about zoos in the area which was--quite different from her usual, yes.

And that would be Rosalind's phone ringing! It was nearly homecoming, and yes, Elena was excited about it. So sue her.

The phone was ringing, which meant she could stop Googling things and take a break for a moment!

"Rosalind," she said crisply. Because even though she knew who it was, well, yeah. She was going to answer the phone as per usual.

"One of these days, I'm going to get an untraceable line and prank-call you," Elena laughed.

One eyebrow arched as Rosalind settled back in her chair.

"Will you now?" she asked, sounding slightly amused. "Perhaps I'll not answer in that case."
