I'm curious to where you are taking these follow-up classes (or are you 100% self-teaching them in a rigid schedule to yourself?). I find myself in a similar boat, where the software has outpaced my ability to absorb it quick enough. And also I'd plain right out like to learn the up to date flash and 3d modeling techniques.
Been trying to research classes in the area without having to go fully back into a college setting (I don't think I'm up for another four year degree) - but I'm really looking for any type of class that takes a subject (flash animation) and gives you a full course.
Sorry for so many words! :D Since you are localish now, I figure you'd be the one to pick for knowledge.
And Bernice, I have NO idea who you are talking about from college but clearly they aren't really worth me knowing who they are if they are going to be like -THAT-. (Absolutely ridiculous to be like, "I won!")
I think your work is studio quality btw, and I totally understand the "I dont drink so socializing and getting -into- the studio is hard." I don't drink much either nore do I eat out much so I suffer the same thing!
Also! I know flash. (Well enough anyway.) If you want to get together one day (since were both in Toronto) I can show you some things or if you have some questions I can give you a hand. :) It's really easy to get used to in the end! And I'd be more than happy to help. (Not that I claim to be an expert!)
Let me know lady! Also, you are awesome, studio OR freelance baby! :) And I've ALWAYS been jealous of some of the stuff you can do! ;)
I think you DO know her, as she was in OUR grade.. trust me, no love lost here.
WE DO HAVE OT MEET UP! But i want to do it for other reasons then the "hang out to absorb your immense talent". I want to HANG gurl! And I want to meet your cats and fiance! XD
We haven't met in person, just through mutual friends and such. More like online acquaintances! :D
Sorry I missed you at TCAF though, it was insanely busy when it got towards lunchtime and we did multiple trips back and forth. I kept an eye out for you, but with my shortness I felt like I was looking into a sea of armpits.
I mentioned to Gish below, maybe we should do some kind of coffeehouse sketch jam this summer? I'd be up for hanging out and drawing over a cup of joe at any point.
Yah that's right.. you and I.. same person, split bodies. XD
I'm taking the course in OCAD. They offer continuing education programs in a TON of subjects- Flash animation being one of them. This one just started up, but when I was asking them about availability, they mentioned that these courses run year-round... which means that after this summer run, they should have them again in the fall. So keep checking back to OCAD's continuing Education programs page for dates.

I wish I had more constructive advice to offer than this:
If alcohol features prominently in the networking for your field, Shirley Temples, Virgin Marys, and Rum-and-Cokes (hold the rum) are your friends. Most people won't be able to tell them from real drinks and they're made with stuff that any wet bar will have on had. You could even ask the bartender to put some 7-Up in a highball or a martini glass and drop a twist of lime in for authenticity.
And for what it's worth I think you did the right thing in distancing yourself from someone so petty.
Dear God you are a life saver. I never thought of going the way of "under cover" drinks... that is brilliant! Also, I appreciate the input dearly. I'm amazed every time I meet an "adult" that still is working the mechanisms of a child. When do people actually mature? Is there a specific date and time I can look forward to?

Action scripting would be absolutely fantastic to learn, I don't know anything about it. :/
