SGA 3.17 Sunday (commentary)

Oct 29, 2007 00:12

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday. *sigh* I don't even want to do this one, you know? But I owe it to my loyal readers to make the best of it. So. Forgive me some meta first, wouldja?

Yeah, okay, this is the one with the exploding-you-know-what. The completely LAME exploding-you-know-what and its consequences. The completely lame and disappointing exploding- ( Read more... )

Yay, commentary!

I'll be honest, I was never a *huge* Carson fan, and wasn't that upset when they said he'd be leaving...and then they aired the episode and they *killed* him, and Rodney was all guilty, and with the coffin, and...*sniffle*..couldn't they just have sent him back to earth?! *cries*

I spoiled this episode for myself...someone put up pics, and I was gunning for a fix so I'm like 'nyuh, I'll just look at one, it can't spoil that much for me...' and of course it's a picture of everyone crying around a coffin with a big Scottish flag on it O.O

I loved Ronon in this episode, too...As for Carson coming back, I have no idea. I read a quote somewhere that said something about him being a 'product of his own work', or something...I have no idea what that means, unless he comes back as a retrovirus, which is *highly* unlikely...:P

Thanks for writing!

I always liked Carson, so I was sad to hear he'd be leaving. But I would MUCH RATHER they just sent him home to his sick mother, sheesh!

Yeah, I was spoiled for this one too, although I don't remember how. "Just one pic..." and oops, what a wrong pic to see! Heh.

Ooh, a product of his own work...that means a clone, I'm thinking.

Hopefully I'm back in the saddle again with commentary. Should be more soon!

*nods* I think clone too - from that exact same quote... seems like a bit of an odd one though - where the heck would said clone have been all this time? I guess we'll find out soon enough though ;D

*runs off to leave a proper comment* be warned, I have notes... ;D

JOHN'S BRAIN: Please see through the mystery of my deep soulful exterior and know that I am confessing my BIG GAY LOVE for Rodney to you.
Yes, yes, yes. This is my reading and until we get other solid evidence this settles to me that John is fully aware that he is in love with Rodney.

Also, I have a big gay hard on for Rodney, as I have just confessed to you.
Hehe.

But I really like her!I like Katie, too. I think she makes a good friend for Rodney. I hope they can become friends once they got over the illusion that they might work as a romantic couple ( ... )

When someone dies, you tend to overemphasize the good memories Ah, good point.

I thought it was a good episode and wish they hadn't ruined it with the tumor business.

Also, Carson was Rodney's best friend? Bzuh? I buy them as friends, but not BFFs. John, yes. Radek, even? Yes. Carson? No. Not his Best Friend. Plus, hasn't Carson basically spent most of this season being a total dick to Rodney and making me hate him? Did the writers not read ANY of the other season 3 scripts? Isn't it canon that the person Rodney calls when he's lonely at Area 51 is John? Isn't it canon that when Rodney discovers a whale, it's John he shares it with? And that when he thinks he's dying, it's John that Rodney asks to handle his remains and give his eulogy? And that John and Rodney have spent the last two-plus years playing Ancient Sims in all their downtime? And that - oh, you know what, let's not EVEN talk about it. If Carson is Rodney's best friend, then there's only one other interpretation to all that John/Rodney canon. FINE WITH ME.

Oh, my god, but a thousand yeses to this. I mean, the hell? While I'm sure they were friends, there is no canonical evidence that Rodney and Carson were BFFs, and that scene was ( ... )

No worries about ranting, I totally agree. In fact, this episode totally stalled my writing other commentary because I just couldn't wrap my head around the inanity of this one.

I fully support your theory. Joe M has already assured that it's really Carson, not a clone or a twin or an alternative reality version, but OUR Carson. I totally think with him being "the product of his own genius" that it's strongly tied to Michael and the retrovirus. The clues dropped were most likely in Vengeance, so yes...Michael.

LOL, there's no such thing as too much sci fi!

I think that's a good guess. Maybe we will see him stashed in a pod somewhere. Plus, there was DNA involved in the Tao of Rodney machine so that might have something to do with it.
