Odd thing with my TV sound

I have a very nice 50" Sony Bravia XBR TV.  Last night I was was watching a DVD (it's a great selection from my  Inspector Poirot collection) when I hit the pause button to go down stairs to arrange something to eat.  It went longer then expeted and when I came up the screen was blank.  So I hit the start button and the picture came on.  But the

This is the smart TV version. You can also get on the internet with it. It was so strange. But a relief to be able to unplug it and get it back. We got it about a year ago. Never happened before. At least I know what to do if it does! The TV before that lasted almost 15 years. One of the first Sony flat screen TV. Remember when they first came out with that and plasma TV? The plasma went the way of 8 track tapes. It had a great picture, but very fragile and broke easily.

I have a IPTV-television that depends on the Internet. No internet - no sound :)

We can access the internet through our TV also. But I don't like to do it. Sometimes my husband does. A computer feels more comfortable probably because my TV is so large.
