LOL XD You so have a point. Villian's sometimes need to be just that, Villians! It's tiring if everyones all "Omg gasp, -feels sorry for him-"

Your style is amazing *o* ! Is this an original work? :o -failz- While your paragraphs are long they carry a lot of detail in them which makes it totally approvable and far more exciting to me at least.

Would I fail at life if I told you I've never seen Voltron? LOL

I KNOW. ugh, i understand that at one point it was really awesome to give villains a motivation because it was new and exciting, but nowadays it's just gone to the opposite extreme. i'm in serious need of a mumm-ra or a gargamel these days.

yes, it's an original work. ^^ one i've been working on for like 10 years, so it makes sense that i get all excited whenever i hit a milestone, lol. xDDD i'm glad you liked it! i do worry about my paragraphs. as you can probably see from this post, i've got a thing about short paragraphs, and in trying to avoid them i end up writing big walls of text. this snippet in particular looks better on word, though-- my LJ's layout is rather slim so it only makes it worse. ;)

i don't blame you for never seeing voltron, it's way older than you are. in fact, it's even older than i am-- by about six months. O_o the only reason i got to watch it was because anime in the 80's took a hell of a lot of time to get to my country... it had to air on ( ... )

Not to mention that their evilness is a high factor for their general badass quotient in most cases. giving them an understandable reason just makes their coolness decay at the drop of a hat.

THIS! Most of the time for me - the badassery and coolnes of the main villain sets the badassery and awsomness of the entire movie/TV show/whatever. The better the villain the better the hero, usually.

That's why I love Bellatrix - she's just plain evil, crazy and obsessed. :D

Also, how ANYONE can hate on Captain Planet, I don't know!

And I love what you said - it still did what it set out to do: make me environmentally conscious. it didn't teach me how to save the planet, but it taught me that we have to save the planet.

So much YES! ♥

I KNOW! she's freakin' nuts, i just LOVE her! xDDDD

(even more than voldie, actually; he's just a whiny prima donna about 85% of the time).

Also, how ANYONE can hate on Captain Planet, I don't know!

yeah, some people just completely missed the point, i swear. -_-;;;

Ah, possibly my own issue against Togashi. His villains are so damn likeable, it's annoying. I do understand you, though; I love those "simply evil" kinds of villains too. <3

yeah, it gets tiring, all of this "understanding the villains." i know some works are much better because of it (especially works that involve more realistic plots, like the average drama and such), but once in a while, having one of those 2D villains is kind of refreshing.

hmm. i think that's why none of my own original works have villains. no, actually, one of them does, but i haven't written much about him yet. ^^;;; pretty sure he's gonna be "in it for the money," though. i have other characters that are not-quite-good and more in the anti-hero or anti-villain spectrum, and they all have different motivations and excuses for their behavior, but that's just it, even i can't bring myself to call them "villains." they're just "not really good" characters in my head, and that works just fine for me.
