I set my mind to having a career in art at an early age. And despite roadblocks and some odd turns, I've managed to make a living at it. I've been doing so professionally since I was 15.

Course, its not so much something that's a career, so much as a vocation. I don't have the temperament for anything else.

I wasn't allowed to do art stuff when I was a kid. And my love of writing was always channeled into school. I was 19 before I realized that I didn't know any happy lawyers and that I would kill myself with work because, omg, I was the most tightly wound kid ever as far as stress levels went.

And I'm not sorry in the slightest. My childhood dreams were based on a need to escape and envision myself in some way as independent and secure just as much as they were on my love of writing and research.

I loved the sciences, but I am not able to process math easily. My brain got in my way. :(

I wanted to be on Broadway.

Yeah. Not happening. I quit acting altogether once I left high school, because I realized that I'm waaaaay too thin-skinned to ever survive that life.

Now I'm working on becoming a nurse to pay the bills, and an author as an outlet. If I could actually be a good enough author that it becomes my main source of income, that would be a dream come true.
