I am attempting to write a letter of recommendation for myself for a professor who’s too busy to write it from scratch herself. I’m having difficulty coming up with what to say. I don’t think I’m modest, but I can’t come up with nice things to say about myself from someone else’s perspective.

Bah.

LOLZ! Ahem...

Dear Colleague,

Ms. Shah is far and away the best student I have ever had. In spite of my 20 years of teaching she makes all other students I work with appear dense, incompetent, unoriginal and boorish in the extreme. Had she not already become vital to breakthrough research I am doing here I would happily recommend her services for others but seeing as she has, I hope you'll politely decline her application and go fuck yourself.

Sincerely,
That nice bald professor whose name Brit can't remember...

PS: Srsly tho. What the hell kind of professor says they'll write a recommendation and then just wants to sign off on one you write? Punch that cunt in the face!

Yeah, I'm choosing to look at this more as a "she's really busy and trusts me to write a good, honest letter that she can sign off on" thing.

Looking at it this positively is trying, though.
