That is completely ridiculous. I'm not sure if I do have any over there, but I'll have to go and look. Thanks for the heads up.

I checked and I've nothing on ff.net. I do have stuff on adult fan fiction, though since I checked there they've upgraded or some such and now I can't log in.

- sigh -

It's nothing I don't have elsewhere but still !

Hope you're well :D

That attitude of theirs is stupid. :(
You could apply for an invitation on AO3.

I honestly can't believe this has happened. I mean, FFnet position on this matter is kind of ridiculous, that's what rating is for. If the story in question has a T rating and there are slangs on it, what do they have to make a fuss about it? I really don't see why they have done such a thing. Is a shame, really.

Anyway, thank you for the information, darling! :) I'll keep it in mind and spread the word ASAP!

You're welcome! This whole thing is a mess. Their rating system is confusing to begin with. I fail to see what's the difference between M and MA in terms of rating, to be honest. I mean, a non-explicit sex scene is not a sex scene in my book. *shrugs*

I'm glad to see I am not the only one with that problem. Whenever I have that issue I stick to the T rating, and make a proper warning at the beginning of the story/chapter. However, it's true, their Rating system is indeed confusing. I wish they had a system similar to LJ does, or something that warns you about the mature content of the piece of writing -so you can exit the page in case you don't want to keep reading such a thing.

Besides, as a friend reminded me today, it'd be better if they focused on the plagiarism cases that are on the webpage rather than banning a story because it has tough vocabulary or something.

I haven't posted on FF.N for ages. Heck, I haven't written anything in ages, but even before that I took all of my previous stories down from FF.N. I tend to lean on the Mature side when it comes to my tastes, even if it doesn't always reflect on my writing, but again, I have no idea what MA (Mature Adult?) entails. How the f**k is it any different from M? 0.õ My mind boggles, really! This is one of the many things that make me not have any patience for the world.

I've always loathed FF.net, and I've never posted any of my fic there. I'm quite glad of it, actually. Too many teenagers and busybodies and awful stories, and far too many issues with non-responsive site admins.

And now that I see this, I'm triply glad that I made the decision to never use that archive.

It sucks that they're doing this now. Particularly when the admins won't do anything about plagiarized fic, but oh, have something a little racy and out comes the ban-hammer. I hope people who are having trouble are able to salvage/back up their stories, and I hope they all move somewhere else, like AO3.

It's interesting that FF.net was my first place to find fanfic, but I don't think of the site with fondness. And that was before I realised all the ways in which the admins fail and how many badfics are posted there.

That being said, I pulled my stuff from there a long time ago.

I used to read fic there, whenever it wasn't any other place, but I've never liked that site at all. I might still have a username there from eons ago that I only used for commenting... hm.

But yeah, I remember a number of epic FF.net fails as it relates to the HP fandom from a long time back. I posted fic to several other sites, like hexfiles, skyehawke, and I think HPfandom, but after seeing how the FF.net admins don't do anything about plagiarizers, I refused to interact with that site entirely.

I don't truly trust the admins of those other sites, either, come to think of it. Moreso than FF.net, because I know they're fans, but they all are subject to terms of their hosts. Eventually I'll get all my old fic up on AO3, which will be my primary fic site.
