well yes .. very funny but it wasn't really the *toast itself* but more the vibe of the cafe that day.

Its not remotely spec fic and hideously I like to write novels not short fiction (oohI have two novels discarded somewhere in neat boxes in my study already).

I was thinking that the toast might have been an alien shapeshifter who had gotten confused.

Some twist on a biological disease that came about because of the amount of pollution in the area, coming into effect when the substance it is coating it heated to a precise 60 degrees (or whatever temp toast is cooked at).
