Well, I write and work full time and have a kid, it is quite do-able with the assistance of partners, child-care and television shows which hold their attention for hours at a time!

The only unproductivity I found was in terms of not having your hands free, but baby-slings and popping them on the boob while the laptop is balanced on the knees works wonders. It's different for everyone though. I wrote a novel during my mat leave.
