Windy out of Chicago

Well I am arrived in Columbus Ohio and ensconced in my room. I have internet (that I am paying for, not sure if that means I will be on it more or less) and really crappy coffee. I thought I would be smart and bring my own sachets of Nescafe frappuccinos with me but ... totally forgot that Americans don't drink tea thus don't have kettles in the ( Read more... )

But it'll taste of coffee if you get it from the machine. Your hotel concierge will be able to give you one that hasn't been used and the water will therefore taste better. Or shell out a few bucks, buy your own cheapie kettle and donate it to anybody who wants to take it home after the con. I did this at Denvention!

Or you could ask the hotel if they have one...they may not provide them in all the rooms, but hotels often have a lot of stuff just for the asking. Can't hurt...

I note somebody suggested asking the hotel if they had a *kettle*. I did this first. They didn't - and apologised for being a non tea-drinking nation :-) I know only two people in America who make not only good but excellent tea and I've promised not to give out their address to travelling Australians.

Sorry - I should really have warned you before you went :-)
