Once More With Feeling

Well, I take back everything I said about this episode. It's still not my favourite episode - I still rate The Body and Hush as better. And probably a couple of other episodes too. I think for me, I'm a big fan of the musical genre and a big fan of ballads and big band and a lot of the songs in this episode don't work for me. I mean that the lyrics ( Read more... )

I love OMWF. I've also listened to the soundtrack too many times and have to be very careful not to sing out loud at work.

I always felt very alone in my love of s6. There was so much hate of it and it made me doubt my watching of it. But I love the dark.

I felt really uncomfortable watching this episode the first time - some of the singing is really, really bad (Zander, anyone?), but it hooked me in. I can't listen to Tara singing of how much Willow has opened her up to a new world without tearing up because we know that Willow has been lying to her and she really can't trust her. When Giles sings about having to leave Buffy because he is standing in her way...OMG, just thinking about it closes my throat!!! The scene where Buffy finally admits she was in heaven and the look on Willow's face is just devastating.

I finally bought the soundtrack and it is one of my favourite episodes. I am a deeply tragic Buffy fan.

I love Willow's "I think this line is mostly filler" :)

Giles and Tara singing together gives me chills, two great voices.

I couldn't remember what you call that, when two voices sing different songs like that, but yes, that is awesome!

I often wondered if Alyson Hannigan has a really awful voice or just had a cold that week, because I think her filler line (which always makes me smile) is about the only time we hear her in the whole episode.

Plus, thank you Alisa. I have had Danny Boy in my head for two days now and was getting heartily sick of it. Now I have Buffy music *grin*.

I thought it was a bit mean(but typical and appropriate) that in the end Buffy was the only one whose secret is revealed to the others, the others doing their bits while in musical mode with us as the audience. Only Buffy sang by herself, revealing her inner-most anxieties to the rest of the cast.

On the other hand, they did all deserve to know how she was feeling and why.

I'm sorry you've been through that, and yet in a way I think being able to tap back into it while you are in a better headspace and a better relationship space might help you to re-frame your coping mechanisms. You're very brave to do this again if it's bringing up such stuff.

That's life though, yeah? It got me to hear and I don't mind who I am these days. I might even be content most days and happy a few others. And I value the feelings now too.

"Anya, Tara, she needs back up."

I should probably watch more Buffy episodes.
