So. Michael Clarke needs to break up with his fiancee Lara Bingle because it's getting in the way of his being Skipper of the Australian Cricket Team. So say high level cricketing type people

I clearly remember photos of a drunken, bruised, black-eyed Ricky Ponting on the front of the paper years ago after he went on a bender. But that is, you know.... MANLY. Flying home to take care of your family is clearly an unforgivable sign of emasculation.
I had an argument with Woodsy last night about how everyone seems to be gunning for LB and how everyone seems to forget she is the victim in this scenario (I chose to omit the fact that she was having an affair with a married man at this point because I don't think its relevant to this particular event). It baffles me.
I get the feeling there are AFL/Fevola publicity people in the background orchestrating all this attention on LB/MC to take the heat off Fevola and as usual there is no one in the media objective enough to realise it.
It's far preferrable to trump LB up as a Jezebel or Eve - tempting the helpless men.
Fevola overstepped the boundaries of acceptable behaviour. Sure that's not surprising given that the photo was taken whilst *he* was having an affair but still ...
It's disappointing that the current club only cares about their responsibility for actions of their players now. Cause you know ... that may just affect what they do in the future, whilst they are in their jurisdiction.
Yeah the press is all about whose undies and boobs you can see when the WAGS rock up on the red carpets of otherwise really dull events.
And as for the magazine, I have no doubt that they orchestrated this whole thing. Which doesn't change the fact that Fevola was circulating those photos for some time now in less public forums.

"The Brisbane Lions coach has backed his star recruit ... saying he believes Fevola's explanation that he didn't circulate the image recently"
Does it matter *when* you did something? Is the impact of what he has done less because he didn't do it *recently*?
