Ditmars Voting Eligibility

Just to follow on from a comment in the last post - if you are unsure if you are eligible to nominate works, email the subcommittee. If you think they may not know who you are, and if I know who you are, please feel free to use my (real) name on your form. Or ask the subcommittee to contact me. I don't mind - I love elections ( Read more... )

Clarification - to NOMINATE you have to be a natural person active in fandom.

To VOTE, you have to be a full or associate member of last year's Natcon or this year's Natcon.

You'll confuse people, talking about voting when we're still in nomination phase :)

Thank you for clearing this up for me, you two! I really appreciate it :D

So when it comes down to it, I should only flutter my eyelashes at people at the Natcon. Let's get out that mascara! XD

Also can I just ask - what's this bloc thing? I saw it mentioned on that crusty blog you linked before Alisa, but I don't really get it...I blame the perm chemicals :P

Nominating and voting numbers for the Ditmars are usually pretty low, so if I got 10 friends to all nominate my short story it would probably make it on the ballot. It's bloc voting, because they're all voting as a bloc.

As long as they all really think it's worth voting for, it's fine. It's OK to tell people thing you think are worth voting for IMO, just so long as they all make up their own mind.

I had a brilliant story ("The Hunter's Tale") in Canterbury 2100, btw. Everyone should totally vote for it. : )
