So the war advances. I don't actually have much opinion on it, to be honest. I haven't been following the news for about two weeks

Like I say on angriests LJ, Boing Boing has a really good discussion thread which details both sides of the argument.

I didn't read it before on account of being sure it would only make me mad! Someone always says something stupid in threads like that. But I can imagine the pros and cons which I think are both really interesting.

I think it says a lot about how the IDF are regrouping after Lebanon and looking at things they want to do differently - and the why is what's interesting to me, I spose.

Israel's PR is still a bit shit though.

As for Boing Boing, there's a good mix of pro and anti Israeli comments. And it's by mostly intelligent people (except for the guy who says that Hamas are right not to recognise Israel and its 48 borders). So I think it's worth reading.

My sister is in Israel at the moment. She's not in the South at the moment, but she has been touring near there. She was there when air raid sirens were going off. We're all worried about her and are counting down the days until she gets home (which is next Sunday).

I'm also worried about my family who do live in the South and who have been shelled in the past.

Yeah their PR is quite shit still. You kind of have to join the dots with those vids on you tube. I really like the new foreign minister though.

My cousins are there, my family is there, I have some family in the south. I'm worried about my cousins getting called up.

It's all just unpleasant and worrisome. And I'm worried about the political fallout -will Fatah oust Hamas, and is that a good or a bad thing?
