Oh yeah?  Me too.  Doesn't seem to make it any easier to live without it RIGHT FUCKING NOW, though.  Holy heat stroke, Batman!  98* and massive humidity.  And at least three more days before the effing heating/cooling people will have the new compressor for the heat pump which has been dead since Wednesday.  That death occurring only one day after ( Read more... )

Hey, 3 bedroom condo next door to my mom is for sale--I've seen it--aside from some cosmetic changes needed in the one circa Swingtown bathroom, it's gorgeous-and think how easy babysitting for nights out would be! :)

We missed you as soon as we left, too. We should have insisted on kidnapping you for a few days until your compressor came in. I hope the Batcave remains somewhat cool. The wee man LOVES his monkey. He now insists on that and blanket monkey to sleep.

Your place is so beautiful and so relaxing--it's always so much fun to visit.

Ha ha ha. Uh, no. Not as of yet. But, too hot today to even sit out there. 98, man!

Also...I love my bracelet like chocolate! Whee!

I promise to work on it tonight, so I can get it back to you.

And the bitty boy would love regular visits from his crazy aunt. He gave you all the "My People" wave.

*raises hand*

In SOUTH LOUISIANA we had NO AC. Just attic fan and window fans and a house with a front and back door at the ends of one long hallway that went through the house. And we liked it!

And the fans had those little slidey things on the sides to make them fit, right?

Wow. LA with no AC would be...ack!

gracious and good-humored the entire time

Surely not! I think you *do* have heatstroke :-) Stay in the cave, lady...today was just BRUTAL, though I do think the temps here are dropping a wee bit tomorrow and I hope they do for you as well.

Miss you already, too!

Ewww. Been there, done that. It sucks.

*hugs* Our AC went out last year (yes, I too grew up with no AC and no, it doesn't help now), and my car died four times between this Jan. and April. We hit 104 degrees today.

It's amazing how you can survive without it for decades but now...a week is unbearable! Aaaghhh!

Stay cool, lady.

Oh, and sekkie made me the most awesome bracelet that I can't wait to show you! You'll love it!

Cool! Are you bringing the bracelet to the con? (I'm bringing pretties with me.... *g*)

Are you bringing the bracelet to the con?

Oh, am I ever! :)

Are you bringing your tools? Upon wearing it for the first time, I realize that my bracelet's a little big. Which, totally my fault, as I gave you the measurements. *L* If not, I can mail it?

Oh, and I totally forgot to tell you that I took my stuff to AZ and showed it to my sister, and she was all o.O ! How pretty! So, just wait till she gets her own set at Xmas! Whee!

We didn't get a/c in our house until I was about 17. Not too many people in my neighborhood had a/c, let alone central air -- and I grew up in a pretty middle class neighborhood.

Now, I can not move anywhere without it. I HAVE to have a/c. It's a necessity.

It is amazing how much of a necessity it's become, isn't it?
