Photos and power surges and painting, oh my!

Spent the day painting my Sister's new place. She'll be living in an "Adult Oriented Building" (It's written on the sign out front!) that's a block from the dead centre of town.

what exactly is an "Adult oriented building"? it sounds both dirty and geriatric.

also, lucky you didn't get paint in your hair! i still have paint in my hair from painting 2 weeks ago!

It's a 19+ building. Normally an adult only building is like 50+ "retirement community" type dealie. And whatever, I can understand the adult only thing, they dont want the noise of small children I guess, but do they have to write it on the the sign outside? In such awkward wording? It does sound dirty.

I did get it in my hair :( Fortunately? It kind of looks like intentional highlights.

the power surges killed half the overhead lights in my store. And they're still out, over a day later

I like to think that my surge protector was actually doing its job and that's why stuff is still working. In reality, I think the surge protector actually has no protection and is just a power bar. I should look into that.

Also, you sister's place looks really big

Supposedly it's the same square footage as the last place, just laid out different. I don't buy it cause it really does look alot bigger. Once all their crap is moved in I'm sure it will be small again. They even have a poorly lit closet room which Sean has dubbed "narnia".
