A follow up to previous post The Buffy Reboot

As a huge fan of Buffy, it was hard for me not to notice how many plot points had already been covered by our favorite blonde vampire slayer. Apparently, someone else noticed too, and he made this nifty little video that I think Twilight haters and lovers alike can enjoy. It’s amazing what a difference ( Read more... )

My summer resolution is to read more, so today I got me some Margaret Atwood from the library. The Penelopiad! Looking forward to it. Even more just thinking about Twilight.

If I had more time, I think I would rewatch me some buffy. As it is, Dr. Horrible and Serenity shall have to fill in the void.

Not yet. It's on my list. I went on a DVD buying splurge a few days ago... so I'm trying to hold off the next one until I at least start working again. I'm excited to see it on the big screen.

I'm so very glad other people notice this. It's disgusting how similar the base of the story is.

To be fair, most stories are rehashings of previous ones at their most basic level...isn't there some saying that there are only like 7 plots and shakespeare did them all first? Idk. I just have a particular disdain for Twilight. Though, I have a feeling I might enjoy the movie just for the LULZ. The clips above are the most I've seen of it.

True, but taking elements as a human teenaged girl entralled by older man that has to fight his inner nature not to kill her. That's a pretty specific opening plot point. Whedon may not of created it, but he certainly was the first to make money off it, and that's the thing that counts.
