Fail.

Last night, after watching Pirates 3 with the masses (Jen&Sean, my Mom), I fired up Rollercoaster Tycoon (Found the disc in my desk reorganizing and figured, what the hey?). Now, I've always enjoyed simulation games. Before there was ROllercoaster Tycoon, there was ThemePark. My Dad brought home a copy from England when we were still wee. It ran on ( Read more... )

I remember playing rollercoaster tycoon obsessively in August last year. I was horrible at making rollercoasters and I could never make one with less than a 7.0 nausea rating.

Hehe I don't actually bother making coasters anymore. I just use the prefab ones. Everyone still seems to get sick though. Oh well. They tell me that they want more thrilling rides, and then they barf all over. Just have to hire more handymen?

I like that I can alt tab out of RCT without my computer slowing down like with The Sims. It's old school. My screen resolution keeps going down. Up?

I tend to get one handyman for every 3 coasters and they just patrol those 3. Then I have one spare handyman who I use for any spot cleaning that needs to be done.

I usually zone them out for 4 or 5 zones. Less if its near the exit of a particularly barfy ride. Then a couple to wander all over, and one whos job it is just to cut the grass. If there is grass. What I'm having trouble with now is zoning mechanics. They never seem to do what I want them to, even if I zone them to watch a particular ride.

Yeah I don't make coasters anymore. Those were the times of yesteryear. Where the fun was actually in making coasters rather than beating the game.
I was/am marketing. I run marketing up the wazoo (aka all the possible promotions I could run, are running. The frustration comes from me becoming complacent. I thought I had it all wrapped up. So I let my guard down. And then blammo! It's all over.

This time I've been saving my game periodicly. I have learned!
