Luckily enough, I only started reading the Witcher series when all but the last two books had already been published. I did consider reading them in english first, assuming the german editors were lagging behind the english ones. But it turned out I was wrong! (lucky me, hehe) So... if it gives you any comfort, you'd only have to speak/learn german to read them, you needn't go for polish. ;-) Are you aware of any plans of the rest of the books getting published in english?
And if you need any background or such for you ff... the door's always open.

And I am jealous since we only have the 2 books released in English. Oh well...
