Summary: (Jaejoong POV) Jaejoong is an art teacher who teaches in a summer art workshop for kids and teaches 2 different sections. He had just witnessed one of his student's love at first sight moment when one of his students from the other sections joined them for a make-up session.
It was a cloudy morning and the air was humid, Jaejoong was sure that it was going to rain later that day. The 25 year-old man art teacher disliked it when it rains because it dampens his mood. He hurriedly went inside the building and greeted the guard by the entrance with a slight bow, which the guard returned with the same gesture.
He took the stairs to the second floor and checked his watch; he was just on time, just an hour before the workshop starts. He quickly unlocked the room and once he was inside the workshop area, he was set to work by putting out the materials such as pencils, paints, paint brushes and thick papers out of the cabinet for the day's activity.
As he waited for his students to arrive, he checked on their previous artworks, evaluating each one and added recommendation on the back. His head jerked up when he heard the door open and he greeted the newcomer with a welcoming smile.
"Oh good morning!" Jaejoong smiled, standing up from the chair and approached the mother and twins.
"Good morning Jaejoong-shi, is it okay that I brought them today? They missed a few session and I understand that yesterday was the last day of their batch..."
"No worries. You read the policy right? Students who missed a session can only make up for two sessions. I was just about to call you about it. I'm glad you could bring them today," Jaejoong explained.
"Ah that's great! So I'll leave them with you for now," the mother said.
"Sure," Jaejoong smiled and the twins waved their mother goodbye as she left.
"I missed you both yesterday. How come you were absent?" Jaejoong asked the twins as he led them to the table.
"Junho tantrum," 4 year-old Junsu replied with a giggle.
"Aw Junho...why did you throw a tantrum? You didn't get what you wanted?" Jaejoong kneeled down to remove their jackets.
Junho only yawned and rubbed his eyes. Jaejoong only chuckled and patted his head, "you must be sleepy kiddo. I'll be right back, don't fall asleep okay?"
"Junho sleepy! Wakey Junho wakey!" Junsu giggled in his seat.
Jaejoong went to hang the jackets and retrieved their artwork folders to check on their missed activities then went to get the materials that the twins needed.
He went back to their table and started to explain the activity and once he was assured that they understood his instructions, he left them alone to work on it.
Few minutes later, more of his students finally arrived and then he started the activity on time. While he gave instructions, he noted that two of his students have yet to arrive. Once the students started working on the activity, he went around to check on their compositions and gave suggestions to each one to improve.
"Teacher! Junho is not working!" Jaejoong turned around and found Junsu pointing at his sleeping brother. Jaejoong shook his head with dismay and went to their table.
"Junho...wake up baby. You're not supposed to be sleeping," Jaejoong shook his arm gently and Junho slowly opened his eyes.
"Sweeppyyy..." Junho yawned, not bothering to cover his mouth.
"Come, let's wash your face then you can have a candy okay?" Junho nodded his head and slowly got up from his seat and grabbed for Jaejoong's hand. Jaejoong led him to the bathroom beside the room and helped wash his face then handed him a piece of candy from his pocket, which Junho took it with eager.
When they went back to the room, the door opened and Jaejoong smiled when he saw his favorite tardy student and the kid's father.
"Hello Yoochun! Glad to see you’re here today! I thought you were going to miss today’s session," Jaejoong greeted but earned no response from the chubby toddler, who stared at him blankly with a pout.
"Is something wrong with him today?" Jaejoong asked the father with concern.
"He didn't want to come today but I had to force him since no one is at home," the father explained, shrugging on his shoulders.
Jaejoong kneeled down to Yoochun's height and smiled at the chubby kid, "do you want to make new friends? You have two new classmates today. You told me you like to meet new friends right?" Jaejoong said.
Yoochun nodded his head and looked around in the room, searching for the new classmates.
"Looks like he'll be fine today," Jaejoong assured the father and the father nodded his head in relief and left shortly. Jaejoong turned around and almost tripped when he knocked into Yoochun who was standing idly beside him.
"Yoochun? Why are you just standing-oof! Yoochun!" Jaejoong grabbed Yoochun's arms when the boy suddenly leaned back, almost falling into the ground.
"What has gotten into you?" Jaejoong frowned as he tried to get Yoochun to stand on his own feet. When he saw Yoochun's face, he was amused to see him smiling.
"Teacher, I feel like I am in heaven," said the chubby toddler.
"What?" Jaejoong frowned.
"Because I just saw an angel," the toddler added.
Jaejoong raised his brows and saw that Yoochun was looking at Junsu.
‘Did…I just witness a kid’s love at first sight?’
"Right...come on, you won't have much time left if you don't start soon," Jaejoong pushed Yoochun gently to make him move forward. Yoochun moved slowly and Jaejoong guided him to a vacant table, which was right beside the twins.
Jaejoong helped Yoochun get settled and was about to give out the instructions when he noticed Yoochun turning his body fully around, his back completely facing the twins.
"Why did you turn around?" Jaejoong asked, dumbfounded.
"He's so pretty teacher. I don't want to be blinded," Yoochun replied boldly. Jaejoong tried to stifle his laughter but the noise escaped from his mouth and he quickly covered his mouth with the back of his hand.
"You will be fine Yoochun. Anyways, this is what we're doing today..." Jaejoong told him the instructions and then set Yoochun to start working before leaving the table.
He made a round again, assisting once in a while with his students and their artworks. He checked his watch, there was more time left before they were to be dismissed. He glanced around the room and observed his students. Then his eyes landed on Yoochun, who was not working on his paper.
"Yoochun? Why aren't you drawing yet?" Jaejoong asked worriedly as he approached to his table.
Yoochun shook his head, "Teacher, I am distracted. He's just so pretty."
"Then do you want to transfer to another table?" Jaejoong asked, his eyes twinkling with amusement and laughter.
Yoochun frantically shook his head, "no need Teacher! I'm very happy here!" He exclaimed and started drawing.
'My goodness...he's only 5!' Jaejoong thought as he watched Yoochun trying so hard to concentrate on his drawing while taking occasional glances at Junsu.
‘Really…I wonder how he’ll be like when he’s older. Probably a playboy?’ Jaejoong mused.
The rest of the workshop went smoothly until he heard Junho laughing and squealing loudly. He turned his attention to the twins and found them hugging each other, like any close brothers do. He found it cute especially when Junsu pulled Junho closer and hugged him tightly with glee.
However, he noticed the foul expression on Yoochun's face with his arms crossed together on his chest.
'Is that jealousy I see?'
"Yoochun? What's wrong? Why do you look...angry?" Jaejoong asked with a knowing smile on his face.
"I am angry teacher!" Yoochun pouted.
"Why is that?"
Yoochun pointed at the twins. "Because they're hugging! I want to hug Junsu too!"
'Wow...and he found out his name. I didn't even introduce them...'
Despite the rain that was starting to pour, his mood hasn't dampened due to Yoochun's quirky yet adorable confession. He could no longer hold back his laughter as he let it out and Yoochun looked at him with a sullen expression.
"Baby, it is okay for them to hug each other because they are close and you are not close with him yet,”
Yoochun frowned, “but why? Why are they so close?” he asked.
"It's because they are brothers. They are twins in case if you didn't notice," Jaejoong explained and was anticipating for his reaction.
Yoochun's eyes widened with surprised and opened his mouth, "really?!"
His expression gave away, Yoochun was beyond happy and by the instant he learned that they were siblings, he happily went back to finish on his artwork.
'Shit. Must stop spazzing over this cute kid,' Jaejoong chuckled and tried to focus on assisting the other students but he found it hard to ignore Yoochun, who constantly stole glances at Junsu, who was oblivious the whole time.
When the session was almost over, the mother of the twins arrived to pick them up. Jaejoong showed her their improvement in their artworks and helped them into their jackets. And while he did, he noticed Yoochun slowly approaching to the mother.
'What is he up to?' He frowned as he watched Yoochun pull gently on the mother's hand, seeking for her attention.
"Hello," the mother smiled at him.
Yoochun blushed and bowed his head, "Hello, my name is Yoochun! I like Junsu because he's pretty!"
Jaejoong gaped at Yoochun because it was totally unexpected. He started to fear for the mother's reaction, knowing that not all mothers are supportive of same gender affections, especially from young boys. But to his surprise, the mother laughed and pinched Yoochun's cheek.
"And you are handsome Yoochun, Junsu will be here again in two days, will you be his playmate then?" The mother asked, with a sweet smile.
Yoochun nodded his head frantically, "sure mommy! Bye Bye Junjunsu-ie!" He exclaimed and waved at Junsu when they started to leave. Junsu blushed and waved back at him before they disappeared from the entrance of the door.
"Yahooooo!" Yoochun jumped up and down with glee and Jaejoong tried to understand what just happened.
'Did the mother just accept...oh my goodness!' Jaejoong was so tickled to the bones.
After all his students left, he quickly packed away the materials and gathered all the students' artworks from the tables. He went through them one at a time and added necessary comments at the back. When he reached for Yoochun's artwork, he almost choked with surprise.
'When did he change his concept?' Jaejoong frowned as he tried to remember when he observed him. He eyed the new concept, a wide grin forming on his lips.
The theme of the activity was 'What I want to be when I grow up'. Yoochun's original drawing was a musician but now, it was different. He drew himself big in the middle of the thick paper, then he had drawn another person beside him and he had labeled it with Junsu's name. Then on the other side was a small picket fenced house with two dogs and a big garden and he noticed that there were two small forms of body on the swing in the garden.
Jaejoong giggled and turned over to check for the title. And there it was: Junsu's Future Husband and Family.
Jaejoong immediately pulled out his mobile and pressed the first dial.
"Oh my god Yunnie! You'll never guess what happened today!" Jaejoong squealed when the other line was answered.
Picture Perfect Pt. 2 ____________________________
I am currently an art teacher for kids at a summer art workshop. I wrote this from my own experience when I witnessed my 5 yr old student fall in love with my 4 yr old girl student (who also has a twin brother enrolled in my section), who had a make up session with my other section. They are so cute that I just had to make a Yoosu fic of it. It was just soooooooo adorable I swear!
