Summary: Yoochun finds peace in an odd place, a busy cafe where none can bother him until someone unintentionally did.

The place was buzzing with lively chatters and laughter during the weekday afternoon and it won't die down until it was closing time. Yoochun sat at his usual corner at the cafe with a book in hand, not minding the distractions from the noise and crowd.

He surveyed the crowd before opening a thick novel. There was a group of high school students in uniform, chit chatting over cold drinks and pastries at the center of the cafe. A group of university students was at another corner, working and studying diligently with coffee mugs in front of them to keep their minds functioning. Then there were a few couples occupying the other tables, sharing and feeding pastries to each other, being affectionate to one another with small kisses and holding hands. And there were singles like him, spending time alone either to read, working on the laptop, or waiting for someone to arrive.

Something caught his attention. There was another man sitting by himself near the window and was staring outside absent-mindedly. His expression doesn't look so relaxed but somewhat bothered like he was either contemplating or having trouble making a decision.

Yoochun frowned. He remembered seeing the man at the cafe before with a companion.

'Maybe he is waiting for that companion to arrive?' Yoochun wondered and at the same time, reminded himself not to mind other people's business. He shifted his attention to his novel, paying no more attention to the crowd's noise and focused as he read word by word.

Two days after, Yoochun was back in the cafe, sitting at his usual table with his mug of hot coffee and another novel in hand. He has finished reading the previous novel and was so eager to read a new story. He glanced around the cafe, checking if there was something out of ordinary. His eyes scanned through the faces of the crowd before his eyes came in contact with another pair from the table near the window. Now that was out of ordinary for him and it was the same man who sat alone by himself two days ago. He was looking directly at him before he flinched after realizing that he was caught and quickly looked away.

'What was that?' Yoochun frowned and slowly dismissed the thought, ignoring the unwanted but flattering attention.

He opened his book and drowned the chatters and laughter from the background as he shifted his focus fully on reading, leaving him feel completely undisturbed from his surroundings.

It has been nearly thirty minutes and something was starting to bother him. He doesn't know what it was but it was not the noise or the crowd, He had been accustomed to it and yet he could not find the source of his irritation. He glanced around, hoping to find something but he found nothing. Everything seemed normal; students are chit chatting, laughing and studying, couples on dates and a few single people enjoying their cup of coffees while reading or working.

'What is it?' Yoochun wanted to know. He glanced around again and his attention landed at the man by the window. This time the man was with a companion and they were sharing deep conversations.

Yoochun decided to ignore it and focused on reading his novel. After being occupied with the novel, the feeling was there again and he willed himself just to ignore it.

He was back in the cafe the next day, the day after and for the rest of the week. He always sat on the same table, ordered his usual coffee and always brought a new book to read. For the past few days, he ignored the irritating sensation and had given up on finding the source. Today was just like any other day. He ordered his usual coffee on the counter and carried it to his table. He was about to open his novel when someone took a seat across him on his table. Yoochun frowned at the intruder; he was surprised to find the man who always sat by the window sitting in front of him.

"Excuse me? What are you doing?" Yoochun questioned.

"I got bored sitting alone by myself," the other man replied.

Yoochun raised his brows, "and you supposed that I will entertain you?"

The other man chuckled softly and shook his head, "not necessarily. You're always by yourself and so am I. You're here regularly and so am I, I just want to befriend you, that is all."

He said nothing but eyed the stranger warily.

"I'm harmless if that is what you're wondering and if you don't like it, I can just leave you alone," the other man said, shrugging on his shoulders.

"It is least of my concern whether you're harmless or not. I am just curious why the sudden interest," Yoochun said.

"You're an interesting person. I have noticed that you always sit here on the same table, read a novel everytime and I don't understand how you can zone out the noises and chaos here while without being disturbed from reading. It just simply intrigued me," the other man replied with a friendly smile.

"You must have observed me very well," Yoochun was amused.

"Well, I can't help but be curious and observant on someone that seemed to stand out."

"I stand out?"

"Yes you do. If someone were to work here among the noises, he or she would usually have earphones on. If someone plans to read here, they don't last long except for you. I have noticed that and especially that you are here regularly, I can't help but wonder about your profession," the other man elaborated.

Yoochun let out a chuckle. He was very amused rather than irritated that a man has observed him nonetheless. And now he finally found the source of his irritation, the prying eyes of the other man that has been observing him the past few days.

"If you were planning to befriend with me, you could have at least told me your name first," Yoochun bantered with a playful smile playing on his lips.

The other man slightly blushed in embarrassment, “I apologize. It must have slipped from my mind. I am Kim Junsu, a professor.”

Yoochun seemed surprised, “professor? You don’t look like one,” he commented.

“I’m one of those art professors who don’t need to look smart and clean as they come, I like to have my own identity,” Junsu explained.

“Ah, interesting. Park Yoochun, I’m a novel critic,” he introduced himself.

Junsu’s eyes widened with astonishment, “No wonder why you read books a lot!” he exclaimed happily.

“It’s a hobby and I do enjoy reading,” Yoochun clasped his hands and entwined his fingers together as he observed Junsu. He found his personality to be refreshing and playful and he won’t deny that he was not attracted to him.

They spent the rest of the afternoon talking about random things and getting to know more about each other. Yoochun’s novel has been long forgotten and their coffee mugs were always refilled once it emptied.

Yoochun could not help but bring up about a certain matter, “you know, you’re wrong about one thing. I may be able to ignore everything but I think there is one thing I could not fight it off,” he said.

Junsu tilted his head, “really? What would that be?”

“Someone must have been watching me too hard that a nagging feeling won’t leave me alone the whole time I was here this week,” Yoochun smirked.

Junsu blushed furiously, “I-I didn’t…I’m sorry,” he bowed his head, feeling apologetic and flustered. “I just could not help it,” he added, sheepishly.

Yoochun leaned forward on the table with his chin resting on his palm, “And why is that?” he teased.

Junsu looked away, pursing his lips together before taking a deep breath, “I’m sorry I lied,” he said.

Yoochun frowned, “about what?”

“I do not come here regularly. I just started to come here after I saw you last week and then I saw you again after that. I lied that I wanted to befriend you. I actually want it to be more than that but of course, before being able to do that, I have to be your friend first,” Junsu explained. Yoochun was surprised and could not help but appreciate Junsu for being straightforward. “Jaejoong was tired of hearing me talk about you everyday and he dared me that if I do not make a move today, I will have to cook and clean the house for the whole year,” Junsu cringed at the thought.

“I hope you are not playing with me.”

Junsu shook his head frantically, “I would never do that! I don’t play with people’s feeling and I do actually feel attracted towards you.”

Yoochun sighed in relief, “I’m flattered to know that. Jaejoong is a friend?”

“Yes he is. He was here with me before and I had to show him that you were here again,” Junsu grinned.

Yoochun laughed, “you’re very frank aren’t you?”

“I’m sorry. I just really can’t help it. I apologize if it makes you feel uncomfortable-”

Yoochun shook his head, “I do not mind at all. I won’t deny that I am attracted to you and I’m glad that it was you who…how do I say this…broke my record of undisturbed solitude,” Yoochun laughed at his choice of words. “All is good,” he added with a smile.

Junsu beamed with a smile, feeling so proud at himself, “that means we can date?” he asked, feeling hopeful.

Yoochun choked, sometimes Junsu’s straightforwardness can be too much but Yoochun found it endearing.

“If that is what you want,” Yoochun tried to control his laughter as he watched Junsu smile widely at him like a kid who got the best present ever for Christmas.

“Oh I would really love to!” Junsu exclaimed.

Yoochun frowned when he watched Junsu fished for something in the pockets of his jacket and jeans.

“What are you doing?” he asked as Junsu finally pulled out his mobile phone.

“I have to take a picture of us! And then send it to Jaejoong as evidence that I made my move today!”

Yoochun just laughed heartily and allowed to be pulled by Junsu as he snapped not just one but tons of photos of them on his phone and Yoochun had to assure him that they would have more photos together in the future.

The story was inspired when I waited by myself for over an hour in Starbucks few days ago so I had to find a way to pass time. Wrote half of it in Starbucks and finished the rest today.

What do you guys think? I made Junsu's character a bit different from my previous fics. I tried to make it a Junchun but it can also be a Yoosu except that Junsu is more aggressive. Let me know what you think!

Thank you so much for reading! ^.^
