Junsu toyed with his mobile phone, hoping that Yoochun would call him anytime soon. Yoochun and his brother had left a few days ago to visit their grandparents in Fairfax, Virginia. They have a few weeks of break before the semester begins and Yoochun’s mom took the liberty to book plane tickets before consulting Yoochun and his brother.
Junsu felt disappointed because he was looking forward to spending those weeks with Yoochun and he even planned to take Yoochun with him on a trip. Since Yoochun left, he was stuck with Changmin who would drop by his place and drag Junsu out to eat outside.
Suddenly Junsu felt his phone vibrated and he instantly perked up when he saw the name flashing on the screen.
“Yoochun!” he answered too happily.
“You sound too happy,” Junsu could hear him chuckling softly on the other end.
“Of course, I have been wondering when were you going to call me. How are your grandparents?” he asked.
“They’re okay and glad that Yoohwan and I are here. Grandpa instantly kept us busy with fishing and his cars. He got a huge collection of old cars and they’re amazing. I can’t blame my mom for sending us away for few weeks since I realized that I also miss them,” Yoochun replied.
“Glad to know you’re having fun,” Junsu smiled.
“Yeah me too. How are you?” Yoochun asked.
“I’m okay.”
“You don’t sound too happy anymore,” Yoochun quipped.
“Well…it’s just that…”
“What is it?” Yoochun asked.
“I hate it when you’re not here,” Junsu sighed as he leaned against the headboard of his bed.
“I know…just endure it for a while and before you know it, I’m already back,” Yoochun said.
“But two weeks is too long and I don’t know if I can endure. I don’t mean to be selfish but…I just miss you,” Junsu whispered softly.
Yoochun could feel his lips twitching into a smile, “I miss you too my idiot,” he teased.
“Hey!” the other protested, “I’m not an idiot!”
“Yes you are, my sweet idiot whether you like it or not,” Yoochun grinned on the mouthpiece and pressed his fingers down on the keys, creating random notes.
“What’s that?”
“Oh sorry. I just pressed the keys of the piano,” Yoochun apologized, retreating his hands from the keys.
“Do you know how to play it?” Junsu questioned, excitedly.
“I can play some,” he replied.
“Play something for me please, anything is fine.”
Yoochun contemplated for a few seconds on what piece to play and when he decided on a piece, he placed the phone down and put the speakerphone on. He stretched his fingers across the keys and moved his fingers in a graceful motion as he played.
He was so deeply immersed while he played the piano and failed to notice the accompanying melody. And when he did, he closed his eyes as he listened to Junsu’s melodious voice from the speakerphone. It’s a wonder how they blend very well and Junsu gave Yoochun a feeling of completeness with his voice.
‘What an angelic voice…’ Yoochun thought as he played. He played until the end of the song and when it came to the end, there was only silence in the air.
“Sometimes I wonder why you are in Fine Arts instead of music, you have nice voice Junsu,” Yoochun said after a few seconds of silence.
“I could say the same for you and you play marvelously. You could be the next Mozart if you wanted to be. Seriously, why are you taking up Literature instead?”
“Because I like to read and I’m a nerd?” Yoochun chuckled at his own answer.
“Yeah my nerdy dolt.”
Yoochun grinned as he could feel his heart fluttering happily when Junsu said that. “You’re starting to sound like me but I’m not complaining,” Yoochun teased.
“It’s your fault!” Junsu huffed on the other end.
Silence once again filled in the air, neither knew what to say next.
“Yooooocccchhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnn…” Junsu suddenly whined but it almost sounded like he was singing instead.
Yoochun raised his brows at the sudden expression, “what?”
“Come home soon okay?”
Yoochun laughed, “I miss you too.”
“But I didn’t say-”
“I know but that’s what you are implying and stop denying it. I already know that you miss me so you can just tell me straight, idiot,” Yoochun just loves to tease him endlessly and he could tell that Junsu must be blushing on the other line.
“I miss you dolt, you better have something for me when you get back or else,” Junsu said softly.
“Or else what?”
“Or I’ll…cry.”
Yoochun knew that the next few weeks is important to the both of them but he chose to pretend that there is nothing.
“Really? I didn’t think you would end up being a crybaby when I was told that I was a huge crybaby then…but no worries, I’m planning to get you a dolphin and duck plushies here for you,” Yoochun said.
“Plushies? But…” Junsu sounded hesitant.
“But what?”
“Nevermind.”
Yoochun could tell what Junsu was feeling, which is a mixture of disappointment and anticipation for something else.
“Okay then! Don’t worry, when you see those plushies, you’ll end up squealing like a girl because they are so cute. Not to mention, they kind of remind me of you though,” Yoochun continued to joke, hoping to make the latter feel a bit better. Yoochun just didn’t want to spoil his surprise for him and after ignoring Junsu the last time; he felt the need to make it up to him.
“Why is it that you love to tease me, you’re being so mean,” Yoochun could imagine Junsu pouting.
“Yeah I do, because you are very special to me so I tease you, whether you like it or not. And Junsu, you better go to sleep and I need to put the phone down, I can feel my pocket running dry from the high bill already,”
“But…”
“Junsu, I’ll be home in two weeks and before you know it, I’m already there with you.”
“Oh…okay,”
Yoochun smiled on the mouthpiece, “Junsu?”
“Yep?”
“Go to sleep okay? Wabshu! Goodnight!” Yoochun quickly hung up before Junsu could protest and grinned at himself. He had his own intention for leaving Junsu hanging like that.
‘Wabshu? What the heck does that mean!?’ Junsu glanced at the phone with a deep frown. ‘Jeez Park Yoochun, you crazy dolt what the heck does that mean, you better tell me when I see you next week!’
‘No matter how far away you are, your voice takes me to your side.’

The surprise is not yet here because it is for the last part. Again, boohoo! I really don't want this to come to an end! *cries*
So what do you think of this? After a week or so of another writer's block, I managed to write half of this while I was slightly tipsy the other day and at the same time, was listening to JYJ's Itsudatte Kimi Ni (on repeat) and completed it last night. Hope you liked it.
Thank you very much for reading! ^.^
(Itsudatte Kimi Ni is still ringing in my head gaaaahh LSS.)
