Oh Tarte, I really do love this fic. I wish I could be more coherent than !!! but I doubt it. You've done an amazing job with characterization and subtlety and attention to detail.

Pour yourself a large g&t, you deserve it.

Pour yourself a large g&t

i am sick as a dog, tarte. nothing could make me smile tonight but this. your neville voice is just perfect, i can absolutely hear him saying all the words you've put in his mouth.

That’s it. For a bitter, misanthropic, pessimistic, dead bastard, he sounds - happy.

i'm like *gigglesob*.

i love it. an interesting, original, gentle, bittersweet, funny, gorgeous story. loveliest.

icon is super appropriate for all reasons :)

Wow, this is so outstanding. So subtle and beautiful. The crayon portrait was a stroke of genius. I could hear Snape in my head like he was right there, and all the other character voices were so distinct and wonderful too. Percy, a character I've never had any special regard for, was so perfect - grown up quite a bit, but still unmistakably himself. The disgorged wishes were wonderful. And then Neville. His generous, observant, forgiving worldview permeated the whole thing.

oh, i'm really pleased you liked the crayon portrait. i really struggled for inspiration with this fic, and that was the first thing that really hit. also i have to admit, i've never been particularly interested in percy before, but i persuaded myself to love the idea that he might just be waiting for someone a little bit kinder and more patient than the average. thank you for reading this.

Excellent. Snape and Neville's voice are spot on. I love the Boggart, the wishknots vomiting Neville's name, Harry caressing (cleaning) Snape's portrait. A wonderful story, beautifully written.
