Okay, maybe it's just me.  But does this merchandise strike anyone else as completely tasteless?

I'm with ya, thats actually quite sick. Of all the scenes that Sirius features in, this is the one they pick?

I sometimes wonder, JKR must so be regretting relinquishing so much control over to WB. They havn't done her or the books justice.

They havn't done her or the books justice.

Amen to that!

I'm actually embarrassed sometimes to admit to people that I'm an HP because I know all they know of the series is what they've seen in the movies. Ugh.

I have never thought that that may be the reasons my family, friends and man think I'm such a nutcase. Thinking on it now, I always defend by saying, "You should read the books!"

I've given up even talking about it to friends and family. In fact, until last year I didn't have a single RL friend whom I knew read the books! (Now I know of two.) That doesn't mean none of my friends are fans, it's just that I wouldn't know since I never bring HP up to them. This became my dirty little secret because I got tired of the patronizing looks I'd get from friends who had only seen the movies. Ah, well! ;-)

*am clueless*

Do you have to be a big HP fan to get why it's tasteless? Is his penis sticking out and I can't see it? Is that his penis in his hand?

*gets out magnifying glass*

Angel. You can't make me laugh this hard over a penis joke WHEN MY KIDS ARE IN THE ROOM. This is all your fault. Now Ethan wants to know what's funny. Thank you SO much. "It's nothing, Ethan, Angel's just making jokes about Sirius Black's penis."

And to answer your question, have you read Book 5? If you have, you should be able to figure out why this is tasteless. If you haven't, I don't want to spoil it for you. Because I know you just adore Harry Potter so much.

Yeah, that's kind of messed up. But if you shove your action figure through the veil does he disappear?

And if he does, do you get a refund?

I was thinking more on the marketing side... you'd have people buying three and four of them! lol

Hehe! Too true!

Reminds me for some reason of a complaint my niece recently had about a toy. She got a "Fairy Wishes Dora" for her birthday in December. And after about a week she brought it to her Mom and asked her to take it back to the store.

"It doesn't work!" my niece insisted. "Everytime I make my wishes, they never come true!"
