For your first foray in to fanfiction (woot, alliteration!), this is a pretty good quality fic. You have a good plot set-up, and good language use, but might I suggest a Beta-reader? There are a few problems with sentence structure, grammar and word use, so a Beta-reader would be advisable. They are for everyone, honestly. It never hurts to have a second pair of eyes!
Otherwise, this is a good start! I will definitely read more. :D
