OMG. Transformers is so much win. I've never seen the original series, but the movie was full of subtext. Optimus has that really phallic sword, and Megatron's gun just looked like a penis.
Are they brothers? What's the equivalent of blood relations to a robot? Same manufacturer? ^^;;;
The original series was win. It was part of my Saturday morning ritual to wake up early and watch TMNT, Pokemon and Transformers for a good portion of my young life. AND THAT MOVIE WAS PRETTY MUCH SUBLIMINAL, IF YOU ASK ME especially all the lubrication that was going on.
XD It's never explained what 'brother' means to an Autobot or a Deceptacon, but only Optimus Prime and Megatron refer to eachother as 'brother'.
I agree. >D The lubrication made me raise an eyebrow and think, well, that's convenient.
I've been researching the original series, and from what I've found out, it might as well have been Optimus L and Kiratron. The whole thing about how they're the ones who understand the other best, and how if circumstances were different, they could've been incredible allies, and all that. 9.9;;; But the canon crossover with GI Joe makes me laugh.
