Freeware? Shareware?

I remember a while ago (couple years, maybe?), I remember you hooked me up with a Freeshare/Shareware word processing application (pseudo-Microsoft). I don't remember where it was, and this time it's PC.

Can you (or anyone) help me? Thank you!

also - google docs is actually pretty amazing. spreadsheets, word processing, you name it. Just need a google account.

What they said. Open Office if you want something on par with MS Office. Google if you do not need something "full featured." My friends and I used Google docs and spreadsheets for quite a bit (because you can just share it online and not send files around).

All of the alternatives to MS Office software mentioned here so far have had great reviews.
