So I've been sort of preparing myself for the fact that I didn't make the finalists for about a week now, but I admit I was still hoping until the end. I think everyone was. It didn't help that they postponed things and are being uber vague about it

I skulked around their info on the thing for a little while and the way they're handling it does seem really poor. Don't blame your mother, though. What's done is done and there will be other chances to submit. I think you took some risks with your dress that made it really special :)

Yeah, I don't think it was my mothers fault, really. It was just a passing worry as I was wondering why I hadn't been contacted yet.
The sad thing is that this particular contest is 14-19 years old, so I can't try again next year. Alas.
The other problem is that contests that include older ages are going to include professional designers, or at least people with some training. So that does sort of lower my chances.
But I'm not too hung up on it.
