I love your creativity! Do you have a list of odd hobbies and peculiar skills? Are there any types of things you'd like to learn to do someday, but haven't gotten around to it yet?

Mostly I see things I like and try to reduce them to stencils or reproduce them, so I don’t tend to think of myself as too creative. I consider myself more patient than anything else, at least when I’m concentrating on a project. There’s only one work I did that I consider particularly original, I tried converting a Kupferstich (copperplate print) into a stencil. That was about a thirty hour process. (And even then, it was working from something ( ... )

Ooh! I'm a bit of a coffee nut, too. I have a friend who buys her beans GREEN and then roasts them herself, and she leads a group of 4-10 of us on roasting sessions in the summertime. It's been fantastic learning about the cracks of the bean as it darkens, and to watch the bean go from a city roast to an Italian to a French. There's something so beautiful about the moment when the second crack finally releases all the oil and the beans go shiny ( ... )

You’re amazing and I lost it when I got to the “less beady” comment. Lol!

1. What if the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow had used a Zombie pumpkin for his head??
2. Oh on a related note. Check out corvusdraconis' story "One Tiny Detail" over on FF (dot) net [It's not been transferred to AO3 yet.] for a totally gratuitous usage of Bellatrix's face on a haunted pumpkin.
3. And cool info about the thing! Knowing his eyes ARE glowing just makes it cooler.

1 ) I like the way you think. Hmm. The townspeople would have dropped dead of heart attacks. End of story. (I’m pre-disposed to root for the Hessians anyway... lol)
2) Were there pics in the story? Because I know Corvusdraconis produces lovely paintings. (Not seeing pics yet skimming through.) What I hate about FF, you search for “One Tiny Detail” and it seems to be the only one with that title, or at least there weren’t many, and it buries the result deep on page two. How about ‘most fitting results’ first? Pfft. Again: Pfft.
3) I know, right? They were *flickering*. (I’ll allow that it doesn’t really come through on a still, but it sort of imbued the pic with the spirit of that flicker, I am sure. *nods* 😉)

Hey did you get a notification for the post? I’m still having issues, trying to track them down...

Words only, it is FF. The only story with pictures {so far} is "In the Darkness in Which We Are Made" AO3 version. [You have to be logged in to read it on AO3]
And the easiest way to find corvusdraconis's stuff is to go by author and then scroll down. I have a group of authors who's works profiles are bookmarked for quick & easy reference.

I don’t think I’d noticed that FF doesn’t have any pictures before. I find their site harder to navigate, than AO3. It probably doesn’t help that it isn’t segregated into ships.

Thanks for the screenshot. I appreciate it. 😊 I do get messages, plenty of ‘em. Just not for when the ‘lj user’ tag is used with my nick. And they’re supposed to be mailed to me, too, but it doesn’t do that either. The messages that someone got a virtual gift end up in my LJ inbox, but come through as emails containing nothing but a colon. It’s... unhelpful. And I can’t figure out *why*... It seems to work for a lot of other people. (There are some who seem to have had the problem before, but I haven’t spotted one who has solved it yet.)

You are one amazing woman! I'd give nearly anything to be half as talented and clever as you.

Thank you! That’s very sweet of you to say so. ❤️ Unfortunately last year arthritis hit with a vengeance, and I’ve been battling that back and forth to keep being able to do at least some of my hobbies. (Turns out a lot of the things I like doing are very hands on... Figures.)
