LOL, I'm looking at those pirates on my laptop now and I recognize those guys from vintage sets. We have a few of them as well. I once ordered a mixed lot of some female heads and I see you have one of those as well. I love those big pouty lips!
I have a nice little assortment of pirates. (And I'm with you, I enjoy some of those retro expressions. Pure nostalgia. The new ones are so much better, of course.) I'm sort of sorry the one with a hook didn't fit in the picture, but space was limited. But I got the peg leg in, so that was alright. Couldn't find a parrot quickly, so I settled on Hedwig.
I've seen people divide the Muggle from the Wizarding world with the classic minifigs, and while it's difficult to "people" your streets if you don't resort to the old figs, there's something fun about that distinction. Like life only becomes truly colourful with magic, anything else is monochromatic. (and bright yellow lol)
Arr. Too bad they weren't pirates like the ones in the Ray Stevens Pirate Song. They only want to sing and dance, Sing and dance. Wear their silver buckled slippers & their tight and shiny pants.. .
I think the root of the problem is there wasn't a single buckled slipper and nary a pair of shiny trousers in sight. Had they been supplied with such, I'm sure their behaviour would have adjusted accordingly forthwith. 😉
Thinking about it rationally, the tight & shiny pants [weather American trousers or British underwear] should only be worn by Severus Snape. So Hermione (and us) can visually enjoy.
BTW: the green clad pirate Snape is battling, looks like Mighty Guy or Rock Lee from the Naruto series.
I also like how Hedwig is also taking down pirates. Did she think she was going to get a rat filled pie?
That's the advantage to knowing people in different time zones. They can give you a brief peek into the future. In x hours, I shall have forgotten this thing... lol
