Ooh... It's like a kid's sangria, but only for adults!

My cold drink of choice, other than Pisco sours? A piña colada. SO FREAKING DELICIOUS.

But my cold blended drink this morning was my regular cold blended drink: frozen strawberries, flax seed, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, spinach, and avocado. :)

I have never had a Pisco sour (egg allergy...), *love* American pina coladas, and am very lukewarm on the German ones (we used to have a Chi-chi's here, and it was so nice to be able to go there during happy hour and slurp those lovely icy pineapple-coconuty creations... *sigh*) *Most* of our cocktails don't have nearly enough pulverised ice. (I think it's because most people I know don't have large freezers. Hubs insisted on an American fridge when we built (it's almost as large as the kitchen... lol), he has a thing for those water and ice dispensers in the doors. *Total* ice cube junky.) So we do a lot with frozen berries, because it takes a substantial part of the ice cubes out of recipes.

And I miss all variations of banana smoothies... (also allergic to bananas... 😕) I'm not sure my blender would do a good enough job with the pumpkin seeds... (We use sunflower seeds in my 'pesto', and it definitely leaves texture - a good thing in a pesto, but maybe not so much in a smoothie.)

If you can have wheat, here's a vegan recipe for Pisco sours!

Frozen bananas are delicious. I whip them up in a food processor, add a dash of vanilla, and eat that instead of ice cream. I can't think of another fruit whose texture does that (jackfruit, maybe?), but it's quite good.

And I'm just shaking my head at the Chi-Chi's. I think the last one stateside died in the late '90s?

Bleurgh! Hefeweizen! (Hubs is naturally fond enough of the stuff, but... *shudder*. I don't drink beer at all, really. I've had maybe three since I was sixteen (all cherry beers), if we don't count the bit that goes into the occasional Berliner Weisse. (Raspberry, all the way. No contest. And heavy on the raspberry at that ( ... )
