I'm normally fairly quick off the mark with fic after fandom events (my post Day 2 fic, for instance, which was sadly not representative of what was to come), and today is no exception. I come bearing fic which tries to patch the wound of today's TV. It's also fix-it fic! Whoopee

Thanks. We need some sweetness around here, I think.

As for how I guessed, there aren't many characters that I know of called Holmes who is mentioned in the quote.

Did Rusty REALLY think a quick shag would fix Jack?
I love that Ten doesn't know about Ianto
thanks for that, i was bummed by watching the 2nd half of the episode!
You cheered me right up!

Ten is good, but he's not entirely omniscient. I can imagine Jack hiding someone at home. I must also admit that I didn't finish the episode, I left after that point. Sad, but true.

it was very weird...wordless angst...and a death scene that I thought ridiculously long.
Did the man NEVER watch ANY of the prior Doctor regenerations? I guess not...even the Baker to Davison regeneration was better and that one was just silly!

Ianto, at least, went down with dignity in his quiet acceptance of fate.

Jack was simple too adoreable in this, looking after and reading to Ianto, is my favorite version of Jack.

I think there's too much emphasis put on Jack's playboy nature and not enough on the tender side of him, and in CoE there was just nothing remotely in character. Jack is all too capable of affection and I couldn't resist having him read to Ianto - there's something so personal about it. They seemed to miss that closeness between the pair which was there in series 2 in CoE, and it devalued their relationship completely as a result.
