I loved this post. I want to crawl around in your brain sometimes :)
I found this online...
"According to Ted Andrews' book, Animal-Speak, dear represent gentleness and innocence, as well as a gentle luring towards new adventure. Deer have acute hearing, and antlers represent psychic antennae, so the appearance of deer can also signify an increased perception (especially hearing), or increased psychic ability. Deer are also very important in Buddhist symbology. Buddha is often pictured accompanied by a tame deer. This image symbolizes innocence and a return to Mother Nature."
And this... Deer: Deer symbolize gentleness, grace, swiftness, abundance, intuition, introspection, alternative paths to a goal, messages from guides, love, safety, serenity, sun, fertility and the warrior aspect (stag). They are connected to Artemis, Aphrodite, Athene, Diana, Elaphaia, Dionysus, Apollo, Vayu, Lu-Hsing, Cernunnos, Cocidius and Shou-Hsien.
So I would say its a beautiful sign. As it should be.
Sorry I found this one too, from a website talking about Animal symbology. I loved this one..
Deer: Symbolizes gentleness, family protection and demonstrates how to open your heart and love unconditionally. Deer are known as sacred carriers of peace and demonstrate to us the power of gentleness.
The message of the Deer may be asking you to stop pushing so hard to get others to change and to “gently” love and accept them unconditionally for who they are.
Ohhhh my, thank you!!! That is so helpful! I'm actually doing a little research online right now too. I'm reading about shamanism and "Spirit Deer." It's interesting.
I don't think you'd really want to be in my head... it's crowded with old dusty whirligigs and archaic toys, bits and bobbins, thread and yarn, outdated joke books and too much loose tea in painted tins. And that's just the indoor part. The outdoor part is all vines and moss, a jungle of sense and separateness. They say not all those who wander are lost, but if you wandered in here, it would take you a lifetime to find your way out of the Labyrinth. ;)
I love the idea that we all have spirit animals. There is this one bird that always finds a way to mock me when I wake up in a place or a mindset that I don't want to be. Evil mocking bird.
But this is a beautiful entry. And I think that nature manifests itself in many, mysterious ways. It's cool that way.
