I just came back from ballet. Dancing always gives me a warm and fluffy feeling inside (not to be confused with a warm and fuzzy feeling). I really love this years syllabus. It's in romantic style, and everything is nice and soft and pretty. Like the plié exercise where you step away from the bar at the end, then dreamingly look in it's direction ( ( Read more... )

You're the only person who has ever managed to make me miss ballet with just words. You describe it so well.
You know when the music is lingering of it's last farwell notes and you're holding your arms in arobesque alignement, on a rise. You're looking out over your hand and the sun filtering through the window catches the tree outside before coming in to light up something intangible in the air. And suddenly you're not just tilting your head slightly with the chin a little raised, but actually looking at something. Something that's nothing. An idea, an emotion, an energy, something...
That is ce qui me manque from ballet. *nostalgic sigh*

Also *falls over laughing* at the history lesson on decapitation. Ah, to be a fly on the wall...

I'm happy I have that effect. and that somebody understands my strange affection for ballet. (even thought, as my teacher put it " ballet is not about feeling good, it's about looking pretty")

I think it would have been less funny had it come from one of the older girl : like the one with the huge tattoo on her back. It's just that this girl is so tiny, and had trouble seeing why it wasn't quite the imagery we were looking for.

Yes, that was one of the things I miss about ballet, dance in general. (For those of you who didn't know, yes, I did a few years of ballet.) Some of you may even be familiar with the feeling where you just want to get up and join the class you were just watching from the doorway...

Although the heads in the basket thing is kind of disturbing... espicially in regaurds as to the child's mental condition...

Anyway, I must be off to french class... I just might post my most recent misadvenduture sometime this afternoon if I get the chance... And no, ginger4321 you haven't heard this one yet!

Till next time,

I do wonder what the child does in her spare time...
